Hi I have lvl 76 bot with 66(56) str 230(212) dex 66(62) con 8(10) int, block capped. Base amounts are in brackets. I'm currently working on getting my con back up to match my level. Currently using howltusk, goblin toe, bloodfist, hawkmail and pain needle with shield. Also have a twitchthroe in stash to kinda freak a little. I'm not familiar with the meta these days, I just want to level but I prefer to fight other bots for it.

I'm not sure what weapon to go for next. Skull drill seems closest at the moment for the dmg increase (70 dex 31 total dmg). Diamond katana and winding serpent are close too at 64,65 str but for a measly 8,12 total dmg increase. I find that I'm losing fights from either not having enough con or not enough dmg. Was considering stacking str but in terms of weapon upgrades it's not as attractive as dex. But going str will also help with uniques so I can freak better.

So what do you think I should do? I have 30 redis at the moment.

I realize I can't edit the post. Actually I have 60 str 228 dex now. But I can get to 66/230 if I wear the twitchthroe in stash.

Added a build calc link so it's easier to see http://edmazur.com/bots/build_calculator.php?l=76&s=56&c=62&d=212&i=10&b=20&h=16&g=6&f=11&h1=237&h2=&sh=16

I take it your goals are to level? I'd grab a tarnhelm quickly if I were you, it should help training a lot. Maybe swap the goblin toe for a gorefoot. Keep a twitchthroe in stash, incase you ever need an instant boost of str/dex to buy a piece of armour/a weapon.

Pure dex builds are really weak because they have access to terrible armours, which get annihilated when a proper strength build lands a hit. Something like this would be a cheap, easy way to get winding serpents equipped quickly. Your con is fine really, its your low absorb % that'll be making you lose so easily.

Level 88 winding serpent/tower shield (Load) ______________________________ This was generated using Ender's build calculator. http://edmazur.com/bots/build_calculator.php
                             STR CON DEX INT ARMOR
Twitchthroe +6 -8 +6 60
The Face of Horror +10 -2 -4 -3 48
Steel Grip +14 -3 -6 -6 50
Tearhaunch +4 -4 +4 47
winding serpent (106-210)
tower shield (43%) 116
                             +34 -17 -9 321

STR : 131 = 97+34 Left-hand : 244.9-485.1
CON : 44 = 61-17 Right-hand : 0-0
DEX : 220 = 220 HP : 490
INT : 5 = 10 -9 Block : 67.15%
                             Absorb : 35.84%

Once you've got them equipped, you can equip either fighting or int armours

Thanks. That was really helpful. This stat optimising thing is mind boggling. Do most people here play with stats to this extent with every upgrade? I can imagine it'd be really tough to keep track.

I'm guessing when I'm using good armours and I still have survivability issues, that's when I need more con?

A lot of players are settled at a specific level, so they plan a perfect build, "freaking" items just involves using the best combination of armours to get the highest stats possible, buy more armour/weapons, and then downgrade it into a decent set of fighting armour.

Simplest way to explain is to use lots of +str/dex armour, buy the next weapon up, and then swap it for pure +int armour. You get to level quick while also using the fancy weapon that should be out of reach. Downside is that the armour takes lots of durability damage and will break sooner than normal.

60 con should be fine for you for a while, most builds keep their base con somewhere between 50% and 75% of their level. Generally a properly built bot will beat a suboptimal one with lots of con a majority of the time.
