I was thinking of maybe taking bots to the next level?

Doing this includes: - Graphics and animations for bot fights - Weapon and armour graphics - Sounds & Music - More development on spending. eg. More things to buy. - Micro transactions to support this. - Quests that give XP and rewards - Maybe a bounty system. eg. 1m kudos to whoever can smash xBotx 10 times - Facebook integration! (Will boost numbers by heaps with all the kiddies)

These are just a few suggestions, I know the work and bandwidth required would be immense, but if it's supported through micro transactions I think it can be done. Use the money you gain from it to hire those required to do it, and I reckon bots4 can really be on the MMO scene!

Please don't flame me, I'm only suggesting!

While I love your enthusiasm, I don't like all except the "quests" part of your post, which Ender has already stated is part of his long term plans for the game.

I'd rather see development time spent on the clan system, balancing, rather than making flashy stuff. This game caters to a very specific audience, people enjoy it for what it is. They do not want graphics or sounds (there are dozens of browser games to choose from if that's what your into). I love this game for what is, though the exact words to describe it are hard to find.

Basically what neps said.

Like:

  • Weapon and armour graphics <<< This would be nice indeed, even in rudimentary form (use the same pic for all sorts of katanas, etc)
  • Quests
  • Facebook integration

No like:

  • Graphics and animations for bot fights
  • Sounds & Music

Both go against the core of the game; text based simplicity.
Bots is a game you can play while doing other stuff.

Facebook + Bots4 = bad.

People hack facebook games. Its more unorganized. I like the little game and I hope Ender keeps it this way..

Facebook in general = bad.

I hate Facebook, and I hate the fact that its basically a necessity, because no one logs in their IM clients or answers emails anymore, and when you ask them about they tell you "just message me on Facebook."

If the Gods of the Internet bestowed upon me infinite bandwidth, I would DDoS Facebook until the day I die.

Facebook isn't bad for what it used to be. A place to catch up with old friends, but in the past few years it has developed into a piece of shit. I admit, I used to play every game under the sun, until I realized it was absurd, so I deleted everyone of them and now only log on to see what's up and the get back off.

I agree though, Facebook integration would be bad. I love the "smallish" community and though I would love to see more people playing, I don't think I would enjoy it on that large of a scale.

Basically what Jans said, also:

Yes please thank you, *uses his int bot to put 5 mill bounties on skipper every 3 minutes all day*

Blah, maybe not :(

I love the "smallish" community and though I would love to see more people playing, I don't think I would enjoy it on that large of a scale

BIAS! BIAS I SAY! Facebook sucks total balls but it's the no1 traffic driver of choice nowadays. Personally I don't know jack about facebook except how to drive traffic to/from it and from there make your website money, and you don't have to integrate your game with it to do that.

From where I'm sitting better mobile browser compatibility and some very basic advertising would be the next step.

I like knowing the people. Being able to talk to anyone you want and knowing who they are.

Ya, most of us are bots2 nerds, but meh. I'm fine with it.

I agree with what most people have said in this thread. I do not like the idea of graphics and/or animations added to the game due to it being a waste of time. Same thing with the sounds and music. This isn't an role playing game or something where there's an epic song before a boss battle. If you want sounds+music, I suggest just putting on music.

As for Facebook integration, there is one big, gigantic downside and that is status updates. For the love of God if bots4 was integrated into Facebook that would mean the same torture as Farmville status updates. I don't care if you saved a pig or grown a piece of corn and I don't see why I need to be updated on it! The same would be for bots4 in the "[your friend] gained a level/achievement etc." I think. It is really more of a bother those Facebook games than a joy. But I do think it'd bring more people to the game more weird, sociable people with lives. And who wants those people on here I say!

Everything else +1.
