When I look online and I see me there's a green tint on me, I don't remember exactly but I think in bots2 your clan members were also tinted green.
I just think it's quite handy as I always wonder who else in Eternal is online but I don't want to have to look.

Agree, i always think, how im sure it was easier to find my online clan members
|
ye, i miss being able to easily see my fellow clannies that may be online.

That's because now you have to look at the rightmost column now, look for "fighting against X"
|
not quite sure what you are trying to say neps.
but in bots2 your clan mates were highlighted on the online list. & yes I realise this is bots4 but still I found it a handy tool.
the present lay out puts the clan as a secondary object in the box. I find this makes it hard to distinguish who is online from what clan.
Aside from the highlighting I used to love to come online toward the end of the month & see lots of players online from whatever clan was competing for first. it added to the overall excitement :) Here you have to really scrutinise the list to identify what clans are represented.
So ye, long arse way of saying I'd like the clan name in it's own box :P
|
He meant that most Eternal members wouldn't be on their mains, they'd be on their dumpers :P
|
Yeah, that is what I meant rose, was just kidding. :)
Seriously though, yes, I miss having clan mates highlighted.
|
|
Having the clan in it's own box is going a bit far, there's only so much space on the page :)
Highlighting fellow clan members on the online page +1
Inability to spend ten seconds paying some attention to what you're looking at -1

I think you underestimate the psychological impact of being able to easily see the numbers of people in the same clan online DNM.
As for the space issue, I would find that far more useful than being able to see how many platinum trophies someone has. As quite simply, I do not care & if I did I's check the HoF.

But unlucky for you Ender has stated he wants these particular trophies to be a testament to the scope of a players individual value. He's placed tremendous value on them and thus wants them to be showcased throughout the entire game. He even add the overall platinum trophies to a clans profile. I doubt these would be the first to leave the online page.
I for one don't see the reason to have the "energy month" stat on the online page because not everyone is in the online clan race. If I cared that much about it I'd check the HoF for this stat as well.

Still on the list. This is an easy fix, so I upgraded its priority and will probably do it today.
Also, what nos said.
|
I really should start using search more.

What does one have to do with the other? ;)
|
Hm, I'm more likely to upgrade the priority if it will take me under 5 minutes? :)

You talk in contradictions wiggin.
You say that you want to promote real wars, but put no focus on clans.
You say that you want leveling to be as big an achievement as bots2 & then implement buffs.
You say that you do not want star buyers to have too much of an advantage & yet with buffs you can buy your way to the top.
I'm not saying trophies or buffs are a bad thing but I feel they seriously imbalance the game & restricting the buying to just one a day does not fully address that.
Your aspirations are noble, but they seem to get lost in the implementation.

The root problem is really limited time. I have this image in my head of where I want the game to be, but it's still a long ways off. Some things that I originally wanted will inevitably fall by the wayside and I may occasionally contradict myself. Make 1.5k+ forum posts about the same general topic (this game) and you're bound to get caught up now and then. There's a really old post of mine out there saying I'd fix the "bug" allowing freaked builds, but we all know how that ended. Situations change and I like to think I adapt to them and this means occasionally changing my mind.
I realize this doesn't really address your specific points, but I've tried that before and getting into back-and-forths with players where we debate my vision seems to be a losing battle. I think my time is better spent just getting stuff done. It's Saturday and my schedule is clear, after all. I hope you like the end result, if we ever get there. :)
|
Indeed I fully appreciate all your time & effort wiggin.
Plus I realise that this is an evolving beast. & don't get me wrong evolution is good, we need that to survive.
I was just throwing out my opinion, you can choose to ignore it or not ^^

So you have the final version of Bots4 in your head?!? Lucky bastard!
I hope you like the end result, if we ever get there. :)
I for one am prepared to wait, I played Bots2 for four years with NO major updates at all (remember when Holy Rapture was no longer the best weapon? OMFG WE HAS 5 NEW WEAPONS! Not a major update).
The rate at which things change now and Enders constantly putting his ideas out there and talking about the possibilities gives me high hopes for the future :D

Does anyone else find it weird seeing other people's bots light up on the online list? I keep thinking I'm playing on neps' bot :p
|
Not at all. They're different colours.
