D u s k b o r n — Full Clan Backstory

Before the world learned to name its gods, before kingdoms carved borders into the earth, there was the Twilight Fracture — a cosmic calamity where day and night collided in a single, blinding instant. The sky tore open like a wound, spilling an energy that was neither light nor dark, but something older… something that hummed with the memory of creation itself.

Those who survived the Fracture were changed. Their shadows stretched unnaturally, bending and twisting as if alive. Their eyes dimmed into violet embers. Their voices carried echoes of dusk. These survivors became the first Duskborn — a bloodline forever bound to twilight.

In the aftermath of the Fracture, the Duskborn discovered a relic buried beneath the shattered sky: the Eclipsed Codex. Its pages were forged from starlight and shadow, written in runes that shifted with every passing dusk.

The Codex spoke of a prophecy:

"When the final light fades,
dusk shall rise eternal."

Some interpreted this as salvation — a world freed from the tyranny of pure light. Others feared it as the end of all things.

To maintain their connection to the Fracture’s energy, the Duskborn perform ancient rituals passed down through generations:

• Rite of Fading — initiates meditate in absolute darkness until their shadow “detaches” and moves independently.
• Twilight Vigil — warriors stand unmoving from sunset to sunrise, proving devotion to the dying light.
• Fracture Communion — mystics gather around the Codex to channel echoes of the cosmic tear.

The clan believes the world is slowly drifting toward imbalance. Light grows stronger each year — blinding, scorching, consuming. Shadows shrink. Twilight shortens. The Duskborn see this as a threat to existence itself.

Preserve twilight.

Deep within the Eclipsed Codex lies a final passage, sealed by runes no Seer has ever deciphered. It is believed to contain the true nature of the Twilight Fracture — and the real fate of the world.

Some fear that opening it will trigger the prophecy. Others believe it holds the key to saving twilight forever.
