I find that since i hit level 60 i am better off with a shield. I didnt think this was the case but i have tried with and without and with my block around 60% and absorb north of 50% it seems to be a better way to fend off the str bots so far.

never made a balanced before but seems that i shouldn't be using a shield at this point, what do yall think

In theory, it should be a no... Buuuut, depends on your build

ya i was very skeptical of using one but it helps me level as well

60% block is good, 50% absorb is bad, at level 60 you probably don't have enough con to make it worth while.

You must be very lucky with blocking, that's the only way to explain how you are better off with a shield this early. I would suggest investing in a lottery ticket.

A few simple computations though, and you'll see that barring statistical anomalies, two weapons are better at this point. A shield won't be a good option till later on.
