Can someone explain to me how it works exactly?

Does, Dex beat Str, Bal beat Dex, Str beat Bal, is that how it goes?

I think thats how it goes from when I played bots2, but for some reason my dex robot for the life of it cannot beat a str bot..

Dexies never pwned str bots... It's like:
Str beats bal;
Str beats dex;
Bal beats dex.

Dex > Balance > Str below level 10 :p

If only it were that easy.....

Oh, so focussing on dexterity is a no no? Because in the emd 2 builds beat it, and dex beats nothing?

lvl63 is not so big that build couldn't be changed...

At best he could make a balanced bot, if he wanted a str build he'd have to reset.

Balanced is not that bad tho :P

bal becomes good at higher levels.... if you can be bothered getting there

The dynamics of this game are much harder than the Pokemon system of Water beats Fire, Fire beat Grass, Grass beats Water.

Even then that game evolved past the original "standards" to what we now have today with 17 different types (most of which are mixed), all of which have seperate strengths and weakness.

I'd actually say the dynamics of playing Pokemon competitively are far more complex than this game. Far, far more complex.

Well yeah, because then you have to breed for a "perfect" one then you have to specifically design who that pokemon fights so that his EVs are raised with a certain aspect. Far too complicated.

Yeah, dex is good if you can tough out the lower levels and make it to lvl 110+. You'll never pwn everything, but you wont be getting pwned either.

I like dex, I might let my bot stay in a sleep status until dex is fixed.. kinda feels crap knowing the play style I enjoy isn't a viable choice.

just a question related to the dex builds ... how should the ratio be for str:dex:con to be a decent dex build, say winning 40-50%?

There's no build that wins 40-50% against every other build around. Usually it's used 2:1 DEX:CON for dex builds to keep em a bit competetive to others, but dexies don't pwn till very high levels, so if you want to pwn others, you must be either str or balanced one.

I think dex bots with 1:3 are beast. With the amount of con being the same as strength.

Like, the 150set-170 set, they can really tear it up when you can grap those armors.
