It makes your equipment take damage more often. So they break sooner. |

Weapons if i remember only if the stat is STR. |
For STR weapons. For DEX, its the other way around, |
Oh, and they do less damage of course, since you have less strength. |

All the above is correct, but i dont think the OP can integrate the information... So i'll try :) Weapons you are wielding are checked for their highest stat, so if you have a str weapons, this check will be done on str. This means that you can lack dex witouth affecting how often damage your weapon is damaged. Once you lack str your weapon will take damage more often and thus you will need to replace it sooner. You will do the same damage with the weapons, except that you lower str will make you do less damage (as Jans pointed out). It is exactly the other way around with dexterity. If you lack str, nothing happens. If you lack dex: your weapon will break sooner. Im not sure what happens when weapons have the same req (80 str/80 dex) but Ed said something about it somewhere... |

I think the whole "which stat is highest" is dumb. It should be both stats. Total_missing = absolute_value((weapon_str - your_str) + (weapon_dex - your_dex)) |

Aw snap, your total annihilator cannot be repaired any further! Freaking is dangerous! |

Im not sure what happens when weapons have the same req (80 str/80 dex) but Ed said something about it somewhere... They are treated as STR. |
How about higher than needed? Like you equip one weapon with way less dex than your stat and the other weapons is at your dex stat, would the weapon with way less required dex hit wway more often? Or are the stats not affecting weapons in that way, just meeting requirements to equip? |
Chance of equipment damage drops even further for having more points than you need. The increase of this beneficial effect caps at 30 points over req though, I think. |
I was talking about hit chance. I get the for dex weapons that dex is considered for damage to the weapon. But since the workshop has the attack rating stat I guess having more dex than needed for the weapon doesn't increase it's hit chance compared to a weapon with dex req that meets the bots dex stat. |
Hit chance is independent of weapon, unlike damage, which is dependent on both STR and weapon. |
