Do shields actually yield more exp in battles/trains?

If you block more with them, yes

Cool. Just curious, because I'm gonna be focusing on leveling next month, so i'm wondering whether to start adding dex on, or continue with strength.

You get more xp per fight/train with a shield, but you also get fewer fights/trains per hour. Using a shield gets more out of your buffs, so that's the way I would go.

Max block is overrated, as is min CON. I didn't have max block till I was about level 270, worked fine for me. 200-287 in 90 days, (looked for any posts by my in the old levelups thread) and on less than 100 INT all the way.

I agree with min con being over rated, it burns your xp buff too fast. I would like more block but I wouldn't sacrifice good armors for it.

I won't have max block for a looong time, considering I'm on Plasma Swords at the moment. So maybe I'll add a bit of CON :}

Of course, "rules" like always have min CON, max block, can't apply to the entire lifetime of a trainbot. For example, early on, I find that adding a lot of CON is actually better than weapons.

And how much time you get.

Neps might get more exp, but longer trains
Others get less exp, but faster trains.

Min con works wonders pre Terror Inc. Should reconsider your con at that stage.

If you're going to take levelling seriously though, taking the time to make spreadsheets with where to put points, what level to switch armours, weapons and shields so you don't make a mistake.

A major part of (what I've seen) why people fail or level painfully slow is the choice of trainbot. A few people that message me for help are training on the bots due to "I never win much" or something like that, ignoring the xp modifiers some have.

I can't remember exactly what the order was but I went X-Terminator, X-Man and now El TERMINATORE (Since the level 150's)skipping a lot along the way since they were a bit pointless and didn't give me much xp.

I used to get thrashed by El T. winning less than 10% but it still gave me more xp than others that I could win maybe 60% of the time. Now I'm still on the same one and my win ratio is quite high now, but from the looks of it I'll be on him for a while more since Terror Inc. and The X are retardedly more powerful than El T. is.

I use one XP buff a day (Kodiac II) and I ignore xp rate because it's based on time rather than clicks. I would strongly recommend using bots4 statistics script and take a note of train avg xp and trains to level, that's what I use. After I've done 1,000 I don't train any more that day since I'm massively freaked and it wouldn't be worth the camping.

But if I didn't use the buff schedule then that's when I'd use xp/h.

There are, but there are things that you can do to make it a hell of a lot easier. 191 in less than 50k trains is not bad.

Yep, tip for you though get the 100.0 ratio and insanely aggressive plats before levelling properly, I really could have done with the extra discount :/

Just look at the plat list and figure it out.

Reset your bot and go for lvl 100 NaN ;)

Or Insanely Aggressive, thats an easy one. Although I don't imagine resetting your bot is an option for you.

Go for 100k trains, you'd get it eventually.

i reset at 120 first time around, purely for the trophy :)

Conned answerers would still fare well in this area, not sure if best though, and definitely not the smartest choice long-term.

Not unless you've got a LOT of re-dis for the later levels. They become obsolete around the plasma sword/mega maul area
