Like clans or post office.

The post office and clan pages set location properly.

This is caused by being on the battle page (training or fighting) and it failing for some reason (clicked wrong link, bot currently fighting, etc.). The location doesn't get set in this case and so it uses the default "unknown" location.

Could those cases get a status? :) "soiling the toilet"
