Is there any benefit to being in a clan? I remember from BOTS2 you used to get a little bit of extra experience from attacking whores. Is there anything new?

The information I've seen so far seems to indicate being in a clan is more likely to see you attacked than flying solo, so I just wondered if there's any benefits?

Being in a clan's top 20 scorers at the end of the month will earn you some extra trophy points if the clan is in the top 100. Like you say, people are more likely to attack you if your bot is generating energy (to steal your energy). You'll also earn some trophy points if your bot is in the top 1,000 for energy earned at the end of each month.

Having a top 10 rank in a tournament will also get you some extra trophy points if your clan is one of those that accumulated the most top 10 ranks across all the different categories.

.. and more trophy points = more buffs :D

So bottom line is if you're here for leveling then don't bother, if you're here to fight then join a clan and fight hard.

About buffs: what exactly are these? Are they like the training speed increase I got when I first started? Or are they more valuable, like a +10 strength for example?

Not necessarily true. Some of the bigger clans can benefit from levelers, to fill treasury. :P
