I've tried a few dex bots, though it seems that once they get to around level 50-60 I get just taken down by a load of low-level frostreaver bots. Any ideas on things I should do? What to aim for?

Dex post lvl 110 isn't bad. You'll have to int level past the str gap of lvl 60ish to 100ish because dex/balanced holds no ground there.

ffs, i believe that with good made freaked out steelcutter build u can hold your own quite well.

Dex can be good if you make it properly, pure dex not so much from what I've seen (I haven't made one past 100) and balance can be extremely good.

My level 100 unfreaked balanced bot hammered a 100 strength bot today (dazzler) so to say they suck would be wrong. But it does have to be a very strong weapon and armour choice.

It's just there are a lot more ok, good, great and perfect strength builds out there in compared to dex and balanced.

But it doesn't mean that dex bots suck, just challenging. Very challenging.

The core meaning. A bot using armor/weapon/shield (equipment) that he does not have the stats to use.

I have put a lot of focus and work into dex builds. Towards the end of Bots2 I was working on several and I can assure you they were not crap builds. I had put a lot of work and effort into designing them and they still couldn't match well enough within the answerer range. I agree they might not have been "completely" annihilated but they weren't good enough to continue using, and most definitely not here when nearly all the bots within the lvl 80 range are answerers.

Also, pure dex bots suck, period. Balanced are awesome in the lower levels (30 - 60) and higher levels (150-200)

The best thing to do with a dex bot is don't expect to completely rape everyone. Just build it and have fun when people attack it and their fight time goes from 8-10 seconds to 20-30 seconds.

Very true, having the ability to rape people 20 lvls higher and still win 30-40% of the time is fun. This is also incredible xp if you dont care about your ratio.

not inted dexies can actually be really good before lvl 100, just not the pure dex like nos pointed out (they are good before 50ish i guess). lvl 80 diamond katana's is pretty much 50/50 against answerers.
