Souls are an excellent weapon choice, the down side is that they don't really have much after them. They start to whither after souls as far as effectiveness is concerned. If you want to continue being well balanced and win then I'd take the evap/maul path also.

They're still good, but not all of them are the best any more. Take SaiyanZ's builds for instance, they're completely different to anything you'd see in bots2.

Answerers should win to about level 107, then castrators/megas take over.

Nah, you can freak mega mauls/earth mauls with admant chest/shade helm/shade boots/troll shoes quite early. There's quite a variety of best builds in the lvl95 to lvl105 range with different combinations of armours. All you really need is about 50 dex with megas.

Afterwards it's freaked mega mauls then whiplash mauls then blaster mauls. The armours have to keep changing though so it's hard to have the best build for over 5 lvls straight in the lvl100 to lvl140 range unless you have lots and lots of redis points.

Plasmas, castrators and some balanced builds are also pretty good but get beaten slightly by an optimum mega maul build.

Don't knock balance builds either. I've got a few that stand up quite well and in some cases beat most builds.

Yep, balanced is also decent in the lvl110 to lvl120 range. This is where you can freak a bot with Raven Caw, Gore rider, Valkyrie Wing, Satans claw to get the best possible weapon and then switch to armours with more defense/con. Manic and Trolls definitely, Lava Gout is better than Satans Claw most of the time and Iron Pelt is better than Raven Caw most of the time. The amount of HP on the bot determines which gloves and body armour is the best choice.

Also use the highest dex boosting armour to get the best possible shield.

This only holds if your hp is pretty low, <800hp or something. Otherwise the 110 more def + the str/dex bonuses of the Raven Caw are better.

Also, I think the mega maul builds with ~50 dex might struggle against dex/balance builds, although they would probably win against plasmas. Dex might not be as strong as balance, since balance benefit more from freaked shields. Then again, in tournaments shield wearers get shafted a bit so it will be interesting to see how things pan out when the tourneys roll around.

I've found megas to have 54-56 dex base is best.

Agree with Off, my freaked plasma has 58 base. That much would be too much for a mega maul.
