Once upon a time, I was this determined with my scorer. I thought brainbashers would cut it, then maybe 85 conquest maces or something and so on. Then I realized answerers were the norm for a reason.

Answerers are extremely overpowered.
But you can aim for frostreavers if you don't want to level that high.

No they're not. 80 Death Knife with freaked Manic Cran + Dragon Shield beats answers 54% to 48%. There are also good 80 Diamond Katana builds that can beat answers. To say they OP is a bit much.

You'd be surprised how many builds I've tried. That is why I am fairly certain nothing beats answerers, especially as you go further up towards 100.

Yes, the Death Knife build beats the answer build. I'm pretty sure Diamond Katana + Tower Shield comes either even or ahead also. Both builds get stronger as you move towards 100 also as Death Knife goes into Titanium Katana and you use Diamond Katana's well into 100s until you get Ultima. (Around 108ish or so) After Ultima > Castrator. STR builds aren't the only ones viable. There are though certain parts where weapons become pretty insane like Scarab Blades in the 20s for instance. Lvl 21 scarabs are OP.

Yeah and Conned / Freaked Angel Banes can't be beat. I so wish that weapon was half way decent. Angel Bane reminds me of this beast:

100 answerers won 51175 times (51.18%)
100 death knife won 48825 times (48.83%)
Death knife freaked the best I could. Depending on what you freak with, you could focus on reaching for armors (freak mostly DEX), or try to shoot for the best shield possible (minimize freaking with DEX). Still couldn't beat answerers. So I gave it the best of both worlds (aka cheated). Results are above.

Lol Neps. Death Knife is weak @ 100. @ 100 you can use Nataku Moon. Besides, if you see my post I was talking level 80 when answers come in play @ when Death Knife does. Now try Nataku Moon + a Diamond Katana build against answers. They'll both beat it pretty well.

How though? As far as i know 80 death knifes with freaking has either 151 base str and 145 base dex (with blood seeker) or 156 base str 140 base dex (with the snappers). How do you turn that into 192 total str and 186 total dex?

Sorry 149 base Dex and 39 CON. You need 149 for +37 to get 186 dragon shield. :p

PS: The build gets better too since you add +8 CON for the next two levels then work your way to Titanium Katana > Nataku Moon.

It might win vs a standard answerer build, but it loses like 42 / 58 vs a freaked one.

Death knives with the 220 shield and Raven, Manic, Lava Gout, and Troll Shoe where I "cheated" (a.k.a. it didn't really have the stat points for all of that) didn't even break 50-50. How is a real build going to win?
Also, here's Diamond Katana. I also "cheated" for it and even "redissed" a little STR and DEX into CON to give it a hand.

I'm not saying DEX and balanced builds suck. I'm just saying that they don't beat answerers.
I'm not trying to deamean your posts by the way, I'm just very curious. Challenging beliefs that have been accepted as gospel truth for millenia actually turns me on. So taboo. :)

Ahh, so there's your problem right there, you've been freaking DEX and balanced bots but not answerers. Figures. Answerers can be freaked too you know, it exists, why not use it, eh?

It is against freaked answers and I am talking about level 80. You keep using level 80 weps / shields against level 100 answer bot. That's freaking stupid. How about you go test the level 80s eh? You'll see what I am talking about. I haven't even given a level 100 build. You can get an awesome freaked Venus Strike build around 100ish. As for Diamond Katana...LOL Tower Shield @ 100. Try Hyperion at least (I think last I checked you could almost get Ward...).

There you go. That is statistically within the MOE. That should put to rest that answers are not necessarily the best build @ 100. In any event, I have an awesome balanced build for 100 also that I want to keep secret for now :p

That was actually the closest I could get, to 50-50 I simmed it about 30 times. Most sims were about 53%-47%, in favor of answerers.

By the way, I'm guessing you simmed it against straight up CON answerers. I think that's why your answerers lost.

Interesting. I think it can be said that, that is pretty insignificant when choosing a build. I think it shows that other builds can compete on nearly equal footing with answers (freaked vs freaked). Remember, there aren't many folk with 8 stash spaces to freak the builds, so you will be winning a lot against most of the builds you will face that are unfreaked. Of course, that isn't an accurate model of representation, but nonetheless you do not have to necessarily go answers if you want to be competitive.

I still prefer answerers since they're str heavy, and that makes the fights go much faster when you fight bots that aren't on equal footing. Saves a lot of time.

Fights go pretty fast with the buff anyways. @ 100 I doubt you are going to go through 1000+ fights a day all the time and if you do, you don't go over 1000 too much. Most of my fights @ 114 on Wegandi with Ultima (I get castrator here in a level or so) last maybe 3secs upwards to 15 or so if its shield on shield. That's not bad imho.

Yeah, that one, just switch Troll Shoe with Waterwalk. That one (Troll Shoe) goes pretty much 50-50.

Answerers are great because Shaftstop, Manic, Trolls are the best freaking armours in that range and they also give more +stats than any other armours. The next good set of armours comes only when you hit 350 str with Guardian Angel and Titanium visor/Shade helm.
Once you get to lvl110+ it's all megas, evaps, whiplash, blasters.
Freaked castrators are good enough to beat a normal mega/plasma/evap build but not good enough to beat the freaked ones.

You're on the extreme end of the patience spectrum. Probably 95th percentile.

Waterwalk does work better than Troll Shoe in some cases, even though it doesn't give that many stats.

Yep, I tested the waterwalk. It seems to a little better against balanced/dex. Trolls is slightly better vs str.

this build will be much better, though not even perfect (i dont have a sim installed atm). I'm curious to know how it runs against a answerer bot, at this level, 90 and 85 or even 80. My guess is that it would do (even) better at lower levels... neps? :)

How will that be much better? I have 8% more block and 2% more absorb, and I do more damage. The only thing your build has over mine is 500HP. I think I'd rather have the block and absorb and extra damage.

your dex was too high, your armours were badly chosen. Next, you could not actually get to your 260 shield without redissing dex, i normally freaked the build. Eventhough. sim it and my build will win or i am hugely mistaken. Otherwise, swap your build to venom grip and you will see it will improve, also blood bather will be better and probably also a change in helmet. Ok, you might have more block, but hey, you would rather swap 500 (!!) hp (which is 1/2 of your total hp) for a little block and absorb? please.

Hmm, pretty similar over the levels, unexpected :)
Though, i guess its a reasonable alternative to answerers, might even be able to make a better build, since the diamond katana does not fit the freaked armours and shield that well...
