Not sure if this is a bug so forgive me if I'm wrong. However I can't seem to make my colour numbers less than 4.

That's intended.

Not a bug. It's to prevent botnames from becoming too dark = invisible.

Fair enough, any other way to get bright red then?

Sadly no. It might be tweaked more in future, but doesn't have much priority of course.

Instead of add-ons, maybe your skills are of more use if you could collaborate with Ender on the game :)

That's what I was thinking, there's no way to go around the server-side check of the color with a script :P

Not sure Ender is willing to / ready for that, but fine tuning code takes up a lot of time. So it could help him out (& the game).
