the button to click to dismiss isnt working, i press it, it goes. but when i press another link the trophy is back again, have repeated a fair few times now and still does the same

Are you clicking the actual section of the bar that says "Click to dismiss"? or are you clicking the trophy link. I found out occasionally when clicking the trophy link the notification doesn't go away....

Though none of them are showing up in your profile as active so it might be a cookie or history related thing. Or perhaps a script that you have installed gone buggy.

Try logging on using incognito mode and see if it still does it.

went after logging in and out 3 times but was still annoying as hell

I see that it's still marked undismissed on your profile because of the yellow outline. I'll see if I can reproduce this locally when I'm next at home, but I'm not hopeful. What browser/version are you using?
