Logging in again helped |
|
not a bug, i was scoring on his bot, when he logged on the error occured TheCause |
|
I got it on Chromium browsers. Tried Google Chrome and SRWare Iron. Don't want to click in FF coz it's to damn slow. |
|
Updating Chrome and Iron didn't work. Tried FF. No pissing in toilet so far. |
|
What, did you expect foxes to piss in the toilet? Silly. :))) /jk |

Turning off extensions helped. Maybe it's McAfee Siteadvisor. On another game they sugested to turn it off. |
|
Found out it's Hola Better Internet for me. For others it may be another extention which is the problem. I suggest to turn all extentions off and turning them on one each try to figure out which is it. |
|
I have actually experience this another time or two, where I believe no one was logged in to my account.. |
|
Bump this has happened to me a couple of time in the last 2 days |

This has just happened to me. |

This code hasn't changed in a long time, but given the number of people complaining about this, I get the impression something may be happening, so I'm investigating. For now, I've added some additional logging to help debug this issue. To help me, the next time people see this where they get the "learn to aim" error message several times in a row no matter which link they click, please post the exact timestamps it happened using the time on the top left of the UI. For example, if it just happened to me a few times, my post might look like this:
|
|
At 2:51:43 am I clicked Fight again, entered captcha and then the screen Learn to aim appeared. After going to the fight page and tried again, it went fine. |
|
3:56:18 am. Again after captcha |
|
It's important to say that the fights happen because I take energy from the target. So I'm not missing the links for sure. |

Thanks Esv, this is useful information. Are people running into this only immediately after captcha? |
|
Yeh I've not played today but I'll probably run into it later on |
Administrator |
I've added some additional logging around captcha, so Esv (and others), please let me know again with timestamps if it happens. |

I have noticed this after captcha as well Ender. I'll look at timestamp next time I play. |

Strange. From what I can tell, here's what happening:
Step 5 is where things got wacky. Step 4 was the real fight which caused energy to be exchanged and so on, but step 6 is what you end up seeing because it's the last thing. Everything from step 3 and on happens within a span of under 1 second and it's all automatic from what I can tell. I couldn't reproduce this myself against my local web server, but I'm going to analyze the logs further when I have a chance to see if I can pick out any patterns about who it's happening to and how often. In the meantime, what browsers are you all using when you run into this? You don't have any weird "internet speed booster" types of extensions that would be doing any funky caching of requests, right? It's almost as if your browser had cached the fact that the original fight page is a 302 redirect, despite the response in step 4 being a 200. |
|
It happened both in my pc and phone. I use Chrome in both devices. Well, in pc I also use IE but I'm not sure if this happens in that browser too, I will pay attention. Some bots extensions doesnt work anymore for me. Could be one of them doing that? And why it happens sometimes and not whenever I enter captcha? |
|
When it's been happening to me I've been using. IE |

Happens to me when I'm on tablet and PC both of which I use chrome on |

Alright, sounds like it's probably not browser-specific then. For now I'm going to assume this only happens after captcha unless multiple people start suggesting it's more than that. |

Alright thanks for the timestamps everyone, I think I have enough data to investigate this bug now, so you don't need to post them anymore. Note though that I'm not considering this a very high priority bug due to (a) the low impact (it's just an annoyance; it doesn't actually prevent you from doing anything), (b) the fact that I don't have any solid ideas on what could be causing it, and (c) my current attention on tournaments. I'll probably come back around to this once the first tournament is complete. |
|
THIS IS HUGELY ANNOYING WHEN YOU'RE ON MORE THAN ONE BOT!!!! |

Anyone else getting these messages more often recently? It is typically happening when I am windumping on bots, especially if I'm windumping on more than one bot at a time. Training bots and other bots with long fights are not affected for me. It is much more than an annoyance when you are being regularly interrupted every 10-20 fights. The game is pretty much unplayable in these conditions. |
|
yeah still having this a couple of times per day, specially when windumping |
Administrator |
I still don't really have a good idea what's going on here, but I'll look further. I'll probably add some additional logging and then ask people to post more timestamps of when they experience so I can try to dig into what's going on. Sorry for the trouble. |

This is still happening to me, and is still very disruptive. I noticed I was getting the learn to aim pages pretty frequently this afternoon while I was on 4 bots. In total I counted 16 learn to aim pages in 20 minutes. That's 48 times per hour on average. 48 times per hour I would have to hit fight, level range and fight the bot I was attacking again. Whenever I get this message, the fight that I had attempted by clicking the 'fight again' button would register and then I would get the message. So it was like I had double clicked on the link, essentially. The same happens when this message appears after entering a captcha correctly. If I had to guess, I would say getting these pages frequently has something to do with the captchas. Back when the captchas would pop up independently on each bot you were playing and need to be entered individually, I never experienced these problems. Hopefully this helps. |

I've never had a problem with the multi-browser captchas. The only time I get it is when I legitimately hit the wrong colored fight link. But if it is a captcha problem then there's probably not much Ender can do to fix it other than revert back to the old system or try a new one. Perhaps it has to do with the script that controls the multi-captchas? It could be that the script activates too fast and too slow in some browsers and the time difference could be messing with the fight again links as if you click too fast it would register it as double clicking. That said, I have no background in coding and just made that all up because it sounded cool. |

Nevermind, it's starting to happen to me too. Only on Google Chrome though. I play 2 bots, one on Firefox and one of Chrome and only the Chrome one does the learn to aim thing. Did it 3 or 4 times the past 20 minutes. I'm also watching a Youtube video and installing something if that helps at all. |

Now every once and awhile it goes ERRNETWORKACCESS_DENIED and it just performed suicide it seems as shown in this picture (Firefox is still running fine btw). http://i.imgur.com/Sjjbqf4.png |

Hmm my mouse is actually double clicking every now and then, so that may have been the cause. Now that it's changed I'll post if I get the messages often again. |
Administrator |
Someone reported the same thing on IRC - they were having this problem regularly and eventually figured out that it was a problem with their mouse. I'm not convinced there isn't something buggy about the newish (not really new, it's been around probably a year or so at least now) multi-captchas, but since it's apparently affected multiple people, mouse issues are something to keep in mind for those that are having problems with this. |
