I don't know how possible it would be, but I just remembered I had this idea back when I was playing Bots2.

Along with the regular training bots, or Terminator series, I think it would be nice to have a training bot that would level along side you.

Buying armor and weapons for it to make it more of a challenge could be interesting as well.

If possible, having it customizable (to some degree) would give people something to do while managing their bots. Naming, changing the color, checking stats, etc.

Anyways, just something I thought up.

Better yet, find someone else with a nicely inflated ratio and kick the crap out of his bot. It's kinda the point of the game ;)

haha, yeah pretty much Alan.
But for my idea you'd have a hand in making the bot, so you'd have an opponent at every level. I think it'd be good for those at the bottom and top, who don't have many people to attack.

@Jans: =P yeah I'm doin that every now and again, I just figure this would be good for people with very low, or very high ratios as well as the top and bottom as I mentioned up top.
Once the ratio limiter is put in place, those with high ratios might not have a target available, so they'd be stuck letting people attack them or training against the pre-set bots. This would give them something to do while their ratio is brought down. (or kept up).

Was just an idea =)

I like the idea, but, wouldn't the user just make an easy to kill but with the most experience that can come out of it? It does sound like a good idea though. But realize some people aren't fair, and if they created a training bot that actually kills their bot, then that just sucks. Also you would see less of attacks on the fixed bots and more on the training bots.

I'd say the training buddy wouldn't give you any money or exp.

Then what would the point of it be?

if ur training buddy can beat u and u know his stats it could be beneficial if you start a new build...

But, you know the stats to all the training bots. So, what else do you mean?

If you can configure your own 'training buddy', it's effectively like a battle simulator; you could try out different builds and see what's best.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but again, it's very risk-avoiding. If you want to know how your bot compares to others, FIGHT OTHERS AND FIND OUT.

Agreed with Jans, training buddy is a foolish idea, if you want to be able to fight don't be a leveler.
