A kudos bar may be usefull just under exp bar, so wherever you are you can see straight away how much money u have.

-1 use the workshop |
Yeah the workshop, or the showroom, plus it tells you at the end of every fight, ffs. |
so lets get rid of exp bar coz it's in workshop... i think that kudos bar would be a great idea anyway |

I don't see the usefulness of it either. |
Not to mention the fact that after a certain point practically everyone is at 5m kudos 24/7 |
You know what, you actually made a good point there. So now you have to consider the amount of space there is on any given page and what people would rather see more often. Also, which is more useful, seeing the amount of exp you have and the percentage to the next level, and also be able to quickly calculate how many train/fights it will take to level, or the amount of kudos you have. I think having both in the box up there would be a bit much. |
Or if it really is that big of a deal have an option to replace the XP bar with a kudos bar.. |

I think the statbox is perfect already. Clean enough but gives the most needed info. Spamming it with useless info would only mess everything up. -1 to idea. |

Wow, I actually love this idea. I've thought about how to add kudos to the HUD before as text, but there's really no room for it because there's already (potentially) two columns of three rows. A smaller bar below the exp bar, perhaps just 5px tall or so, solves this problem. But just to keep you grounded, your idea of removing the exp bar from the HUD to make room for this is one of the worst I've heard. What were you thinking man? |
It should not always be at a zero to 5m scale in my opinion, otherwise it would be pretty worthless at early levels. 10 kudos and 10,000 kudos are both pretty much diddly squat compared to 5,000,000, but they're quite different for a level 30 bot. |
no offence, I think that hud is working great, but kudos is something that you always keep an eye on. It's nice to see straight away how much u got, even if u move between pages. Or if it really is that big of a deal have an option to replace the XP bar with a kudos bar.. it's not that big deal, don't stress so much coz I'll have to spank your ass... ;) |
nice work Ender, that was a fastttt fix! |
Administrator |
This is added now. It's pretty basic at the moment, but I might go back and add notches/gradient like the exp bar if I feel like it. |
Thanks Ender. You're awesome. |

I feel an urge to change kudos bar color... That yellow doesn't fit there for me :( |
It's pretty basic at the moment, but I might go back and add notches/gradient like the exp bar if I feel like it maybe make it a logarithmic function so it is usefull for lower and higher levels? |
A minor bug with this bar, when i got to the point where i could not afford to repair my gear (0 kudos), my bar went full yellow :) |
I just tried to recreate this bug, this time my bar did not go full yellow. |
Administrator |
Hm, made a note to look into the full yellow bug. |
forget the kudos bar how about a kudos bank? having 5mil is nice but storing more is better, only the fact of nothing costs as much as 5mil is the problem with having a bank in the first place i guess |
<Apex>
There were a load of threads about kudos bank already. It won't be implemented so stop asking for it. Thank You. |
mate i started about 2 days ago i know fuck all whats coming or what people have been talking about and im not prepared to scroll through thousands of threads just to find out info, so i will ask for it. you have a problem dont fucking reply! |
Actually, even half a decade back in BOTS2, a kudos bank was apparently a noob's favourite suggestion. There as even a sticky about it I think, a "things not to suggest" thread if I remember correctly. |
haha didnt even use forums at all back then i was just to addicted to the rest of the game, but fair enough there isnt much point having a bank nohing costs over 5mil anyway nuff said this thread should be quarantined haha XD |

This is fixed now. I wasn't doing any number formatting on the percent calculation, so for certain values, PHP was using scientific notation which didn't play nicely with CSS. |

Forgot to multiply by 100... -_- Fixed. |

I "REALLY" don't like the kudos bar....... |
Mainor II [151] <Escapism>
can it at least be separated from the XP bar... there is no pixel in between here... |
I don't like it either, it seems like a waste of space. And it's an ugly colour :S |
Guys... it's still under construction, give it some time. |
Construction doesn't happen if we don't tell Ender what we don't like. Duh. |
Personally I think it's fine. If anything that should be taken out of there is the flag next to my name. I already know what country I'm from, it's other people I want to tell. |
Haha |
nice job on the kudos bar.. i think it great |
If anything that should be taken out of there is the flag next to my name. You don't have to choose your flag, so then it doesn't display next to your name. |
I think a number would work better than the bar currently used, as people have pointed out that at lower levels, 100 kudos and 10k kudos would appear pretty much the same the only problem is if this could fit into the hub |

Can we get an option under settings to have it on/off please? |
Administrator |
I don't want to have a knob for every little thing. I'll be revisiting this at some point to make it look better though. |
Administrator |
And a browser extension to remove it would be pretty trivial fyi. |
Nosferatu [1] <Solo Act>
I don't want to have a "browser extension", regardless of how trivial it may be, to disable each little thing I find I dislike with your "appearance" updates. That's all...... |
Administrator |
I'm just saying the option is there to go bug Emanuel if you're really that bothered by it. I think browser extensions are a great way of handling UI quirks that only bother a small percentage of users where it doesn't make sense to have a knob displayed for everyone by default. If I had to cater to every single user's individual preferences, there'd be a settings page with hundreds of checkboxes and radio buttons and that's not user-friendly. In the modern browser era it's truly effortless to install extensions, so the only reason I can think of for not wanting to do this is that you're not as bothered by it as you claim. |

I doubt I'm a minority with this issue, and for the most part the kudos bar serves no true value. Knowing how many kudos you have at a glance isn't even what you're getting but rather a bar that you have to hover your mouse over to even get the information you want. It serves the purpose of not having to leave a specific page to actually know how many you have, but I don't see the purpose of it taking up site real-estate that could be used for more meaningful purposes. I don't have a more meaningful purpose in mind at the moment, and thus for the time being see no real reason not to utilize the space for this purpose, but if a better purpose does arise I wonder if you would switch it out? My automatic assumption would be no because it'd remove what people have become used to. This is where My argument plays a pivotal role. If it's not there in the first place, which I don't see the point in it anyway, then when you do find a better use for the space, you won't have the dilemma on your hands of removing the kudos bar for it. As far as bugging Emanuel to make a script for those of us that dislike it, I thought it'd be easier to add the options that deal with the GUI preferences to the settings page. I see in either case you're inclined to not find validity in my statement, considering I'm the only one outspoken about this, and thus I'll quietly leave the issue alone and "just deal with it". |

I don't get mad. I state my point calmly and respectable so that Ender actually takes notice to my argument. I don't flame him or scream I want it this way and his way is retarded. I give him reason and validity and ask him to return with some. He pretty much always does. This is what we refer to as grown up discussion. |

Nos, I bow to your literary prowess. That, sir... was fucking amazing. |
