in bots2 i made the same suggestion many people didnt like it cause they tarts lol

but i still think the same and think its bullshit that i beat scorpion x more then 1nc at lvl 323 and could of beat it alot earlier in level if i tryed alot more

and pat - myriad beat it at level 300 dont you find it abit shit that a level 300 and level 323 beat a level 2100

so my suggestion is to make train bots alot more powerful if not all then atleast the bots above cyborg x

All trainbots are weak for their level though, except Trainmate. I guess it doesn't make sense that low level bots should be able to beat trainbots at a much higher level than them, but what makes even less sense is that the bots don't even have enough stat points for their levels.

Eg. the sum of Scorpion X's stat points is 6900, which should make it a level 1716 bot not a level 2100 bot.

Anyway, some of the trainbots were devised a long time ago by floR, and probably need some balancing. For example, X-telligence and X-terminator have the same hp and weapon, but you get much more xp for beating X-terminator due to the xp-mod. It's a similar case for El terrores and El terminatore as well.

agreed ... just give them some proper gear for there stats

I will not in anyway entertain this suggestion unless the whole training xp formula is realligned to compensate.

Indeed my bot is an int bot & therefore I gain my xp from the training xp formula.The current formula has multipliers based on the:

• training bot level
• whether you win (x300) or lose (x100) to a higher bot
• damage dealt
• block chance

So an increase to the difficulty in the train bot or a changing of their level would HUGELY affect the amount of xp I could gain. Hence my strong disapproval to this suggestion.

BTW SJ, your bot is a purely fighting bot, so why are you even using a training bot? How about you leave training to the 'shit' bots & continue proving the size of your e-peen in the battle arena :)

I dont understand this suggestion at all. Trainbots are supposed to be (a lot) weaker than you at the same level. That's their purpose, to provide XP and kudos when you need it. Or in int-bots' cases, want it.

I'm sure they could be tweaked a bit, but they've been copypasted from Bots2, and for now that seems fine..

The idea is that they be made stronger so they are comparable in strength to real bots. Obviously this would involve altering the xp formula from trains so that the xp gain is comparable to the current rates.

& what is the point of that?

I can not see how this change would benefit the game in any way.

& you say obviously the training xp would be adjusted, I can see no hint of that in this thread. I'm pretty sure that that thought did not even enter SJ's head :P

and also jans iv always hated that the train bots arre 2 weak iv always wanted them alot stronger i just hate the fact that at level 300 its possible to win the lvl 2100 bot 1800 levels higher and still win why not make it so level 1ns can win the lvl 500 bots i think thats fair if its the same as it is now

Effectively, the change probably won't affect gameplay since the xp formula would have to be adjusted (otherwise, yeah this suggestion would just be a massive nerf). It's just more logical that the trainbots would a) have the right stats for their level, and b) have gear that suits their stats.

Maybe it would help new players get a rough idea of how to build a bot properly as well.

If you want to put it that way, yeah I guess it would. But let's face it, many of the trainbots were designed pretty sloppily, with haphazard stats and poor choices for gear. They need some balancing, there's no doubt about it in my mind.

tbh i dnt care bout exp so lower the exp if needed i just want the train bots revamped n made stronger

I believe that the main multiplier for xp should be int however the current formula heavily rewards bots with max block. This effectively forces int bots down a certain path which i no like.

Well, fighting bots are even more severely pigeon-holed into being str bots, so it evens out I think.

My point is that the predominant factor in the xp formula should be int, not dex.

In some ways I agree with this suggestion, in real life "training" is made as realistic to the actual event you are training for, and generally as hard as possible.

This is not real life however, and train bots are not there to simulate a real bot vs bot battle, they are there to get you kudos and exp. Due to the current formulas the best way to do that effectively is for them to be a much higher level than us, but you still have to be able to beat them, hence the weak builds.

Blah blah blah, I've got nothing against harder train bots, just don't take away the weak ones. Perhaps have two (or even three) tiers of train bots. The weak (current), the medium (properly set up builds, give + xp and kudos) and the strong (with even more stats per level and freaked builds, give ++ exp and kudos).

That should satisfy everyone, aw who am I kidding, people would bitch and moan all day if that happened.

As you want to reward stronger bots with more xp, your suggestion effectively equates to get rid of int as a stat DNM :P
