Seriously though, the [x] notifications are usually reserved for new events/messages; things that need your attention, and are reset when you've dealt with them. I don't like seeing any yellow numbers on the side..

I think something like [33|4] would be nice, meaning 33 players online, 4 of which are clanmates. In gray ofc.
