I think every month or so there should be a bots lottery where the unique id's of each player are matched to a random number generator, That is all.

There was one, by voting for bots2. But it was discontinued due to players inactivity

I'll start a bots4 lottery (some reward system for voting anyway) later on probably.

I indeed shut the bots2 lottery down due to inactivity. Not having any sort of administrative access on that game, I had to run it manually (the weekly moving the stars part) so it didn't make sense to keep running it if it was only being used by a few people. As the bots4 overlord though, I can automate it now and so it doesn't matter if no one uses it.
