So I think builds need some spicing up and a little more randomness when fighting. So I was thinking.

What if strength added a "small" crit(150% dmg) chance as you added points into it and dex added a small double attack chance.

Both of these would max at 5% chance at 1000 str and 1000 dex and both would start at 0.5% up until you reach a base of 100 str or dex.

From that point forward it would act as a sqrt function increasing rapidly at the beginning and tapering off as it reached the 5% max.

These are just some random thoughts that I thought would be cool. not too sure how hard the implementation would be but i think it would be a cool idea and would add more depth.

I don't like the idea of randomness in a game that revolves around hard calculations and set standards.

Both of these could be buffs.

I'm not really a fan of this magic stuff, but if they are buffs, it gives people more of a choice what to do with their trophy points.

Be a waste of a buff to buy this imo, be interesting to see implemented but probably be too much for most established players.

Buffs shouldn't affect the outcome of a fight, an offline person just have an equal chance of winning as an online person.

If I remember correctly that is Ender's position on it too Fish.

I wouldn't mind the idea of secondary effects that are uncommon-rare to occur. I know this has been suggested before too and it was not well received though.

As far as people not liking randon chance things, what do you think dex is? It lets you calculate the % chance to hit but you don't know for sure when you'll get the hits though. Like flipping a coin and getting all tails but having 50% chance. Or genetics.

Yep, buffs shouldn't affect battle outcome.

I'm hesitant to touch really anything battle-related like this until I have proper tooling in place to measure the effects of certain changes. That's not high priority right now though.
