For people who are lazy and don't want to reply to the thread about the topic, like the removal of the Energy Ratio.

You could still have the thread, but then have a poll also. Just because 10 people post on the thread and say they don't like it, there may be 100 people who do, but don't want to post.

Polls could be weekly, with just yes/no answers.

Thankfully. I wouldn't trust the majority to make the right decisions.

I was thinking about "+1" buttons on forum posts the other day as a way to make it easier for people to quickly agree on things without having to go to the trouble of writing out a post. The tricky part of this would be dealing with multi-botting and trying to restrict +1'ing to unique users, so I probably won't do it for awhile, if ever.

FWIW, I also agree with the point made about design by committee being bad, so there's definitely a balancing act to be made with these kinds of things. I think +1 buttons could be a happy medium.
