Basically there would be a stronger version of each existing trainbot, at first I was thinking they would have additional equipment instead of only weapon + body armor. That'd basically just be more absorb though which is boring. This could be an area to play with and possibly add some unique things. Maybe when fighting Cyborg LX on hard mode your block is reduced by 20%, or it evens the playing field by not counting your helmet/gloves/boots. These modifiers could also be on a rotation or random each week, day or whatever.
For benefits there could be some type of hard mode modifier for xp/kudos, and another set of trophies like the regular train bots.
This also wouldn't have to be limited to increased difficulty. It could be the inverse and increase your block rate or make it so you only hit your maximum damage (with or without absorb counted). Decreased xp/kudos would be fair to keep it in tune of course. Another potential for something like this would be to have beneficial modifiers on trainbots that are underused. All the bots between X-Machine and X-Professional? Never heard of em. The X who? Increased fight speed could be a modifier and would be more interesting in a scenario like this where it is only there for select trainbots, instead of a global speed buff where you would do the same thing as always but faster.
This could be a separate train page, an extra link for each bot on the existing page, or a checkbox on the train page to enable hard mode. Unsure which would be the best route. It also could remain hidden/locked until a certain level to avoid clutter for new players. Though on the other hand, it could be an opportunity to showcase specific things to a player by giving exaggerated scenarios, like fighting infant but it has 90% absorb to demonstrate armor and things like that.
