I think in the workshop there should be a button that allows you to delete someones.....I mean your bot. I believe this is a fundamental thing needed for the game...Or at least a reset button.

Then there would be less bots for us to rape. I disagree with this suggestion.

I think, to eliminate deletion of bots should be done through application form. So the OWNER of the bot has to send an application off to Ender and then he approves it then deletes it. Maybe this for bots over level 50, if your under then it's deletion without application.

Okay, here's a real reason: If people could just start over when things weren't going well for them, what kind of impression would that leave on them for real life? You can't just start over in real life, you can't reset your credit if you spend too much. You have to learn to work with what you've got. Quit being a pussy and just deal with the shit that gets flung at you.

I could do a reset option, but currently a delete option isn't possible because too much of the game code (post office and forums mostly from what I can think of) assumes bots will never be deleted.

I still think resets should be confirmed by you though

No reset makes sense. More bots to rape. You can still just make a new bot (same as a reset). No work required. Everybody wins.

I did re-think that and with maybe 100s of reset requests it doesn't seem like the best idea anymore. I was thinking maybe each bot has the chance to set a secret question? Then you can to put the secret question answer in and an email verification code.

I believe resets would be a good thing but could be abused if there weren't measures in place to stop people just hopping on a bot and resetting it.

What about a re-naming option. The only reason I'd ever delete or reset a bot is if I want the name back. If you had a name change you could just rename your bot "rapemyass" or something stupid and move on. I know there would need to be certain measures in place to prevent abuse, like using it to hide or whatever, and some code to affect change in the forums and all that.

A reset seems pointless to me. But if you can't actually delete accounts, fake it. Lock the account, erase password and email address, and hide the bot from all lists like targets, HoF, etc.

But that seems like a hassle. The simpler solution would be to store all of a poster's data into forum/mail posts, so it doesn't matter if the account is deleted.

I think being able to delete accounts is important. It allows people to break their addiction in a moment of clarity ;)

If my account got deleted, I would have no other choice but to start over.

Of course you can simply start over. That's always the case. But deleting your account has a symbolic meaning as well. "Im done with this shit".

But now we're back to where we were. You shouldn't just be able to decide "I want my bot deleted" and then it happens. Likewise, we shouldn't be able to bother Ender because we want our name changed. Like (whoever it was) said, just create a new bot with a similar name.

Eh, yes you should? My account, i want to be able to decide i want it gone.

But what about the rest of us? We wouldn't have as many bots to attack. What if somebody takes your name and tries to impersonate you? How would that make us feel?

How is that a bother, as far as I know there is no filter or request option when you make a bot, so there would not need to be one for a rename. It would just be a workshop option under settings, like the suggested delete option.

Yes hes does, hes making an awesome game, this was just a suggestion that could offer a compromise to both sides of this, no one said it needed to be a top priority. But eventually all the little things like this will need to be (or should be) addressed before beta ends.

Reset & delete buttons would be nice.
