That's sad. I presume a bunch of bots were added for the tourney and they were never removed.

Forgot to kick the tourney bots and I've been working most of this past week so didn't notice. Pretty big oversight, but I guess it was going to happen eventually with how dysfunctional the tourney meta is. I noticed it yesterday and could have recreated the clan, but Escapism had its run and there is never going to be a second one. For all intents and purposes everyone in the clan is retired and has been for years, so this was essentially a formality. Take it as a microcosm of life - nothing really lasts.

Btw it's kind of pathetic to see that some players in their 30s/40s still hold on to grudges towards players that retired years ago. But given the maturity of the Pirate Haven players, I'm kind of not surprised that they're still acting like kids.

That's totally unfair. I've long since gotten past whatever I thought was a healthy rivalry go. You're the one bringing up Pirate Haven after like 5 years. Whatever, dude. shrugs Your clan is gone.

So, the official explanation is "Waaah, PH mean". Bringing up a rivalry that ended like 5 years ago. Wow, that's just sad. Nobody from our clan said shit to you for years. Don't blame me for letting your treasury elapse.

Maybe we can have a legacy clan view of clans that are gone.

Actually re-reading the thread I didn't realise you posted earlier under a different bot. Anyway, I wasn't blaming anyone, but personally I think its in poor taste to dance over someone's grave, hence my post.

Sad to see, I had a good rivalry with Escapism back in the day when I could be bothered with the game and then more recently turned to good friends with most of the newer players they had and created Apex with them. If anything I doubt most the members who don’t play will really care about the energy but still it’s sad to see it go after all them years.

Someone asked on IRC if it'd be possible to restore the clan. Unfortunately I can't/won't. I've been asked in the past (IIRC Atreides, or maybe Eternal died this way too?) and opening up exceptions for some would mean opening up exceptions for all. There's also the matter of whether it's even technically feasible: Clan deletion unfortunately does a bunch of not-easily-reversible things, backups are daily (so no intra-day data snapshots), etc. If anything, I'd consider handling clan inactivity different in the future, potentially change tournament meta, etc. The current setup is kind of brutal.

I think the last daily backup of the clan snapshot would be cool. Even if it isn't exact down to the minute.

Atreides died of inactivity of me and others unfortunately, but not because of extra tourney bots. But yes, we did ask to restore it but wasnt possible either.

It's ironic that tournaments were the only thing we were playing and they were the reason for the clan's death.

Anyway, thank you Escapism for such good times.

PS: I quit PH and don't hate Escapism or you Myriad. Never did get to chat much though. Hope you find something fun to do :) It was fun playing against you guys 7 years or so ago in Malicious Villainous.
