Have all the experience applied after the tourney is over.

I'm quite sure you didn't gain anything out of the tourny unless you won.

The exp prizes in bots2 were too little. This time make it so that the winner grows half level. i.e. prize is 50% of exp in current level. If exp is a prize that is.

hmm if they're sitting at a level I would guess that they are being extremely selective as to who they rape :P

anyhoo back on topic I think the entry fee should be abandoned, it seems pointless.

& I presume they'll be a whole heap of trophies coming with tourneys :)

This would be ok, as long as it weren't applied to cat 1, since that could allow a bot to get more levels and potentially dominate the category over a long period of time.

i think it's not a good idea for low lvl. but for high lvl indeed! it's a good idea. i think so,maybe because their are so many whore bot's at low lvl.

But they won't attack the whores, as people want to keep finished tourney bots at the level they made them forever.

Forcing a bot to level, regardless of the circumstance is just complete ignorance in my opinion. Regardless of why you build a bot, which for most like me that build them for a tourney, want them prime in their cat for as long as possible. You are just simply asking to have them removed to give you a chance of winning, thus allowing you to level? That's just absurd.

I think the best solution is to design the categories so that "perfect" and "freaked" builds fall in the middle of the category thus allowing other non "perfect" or "freaked" builds more of an opportunity to win.

This I really like. If we use a floating point of say 10 levels that a cat can influx up or down then the "prime" build wouldn't always be the same and it wouldn't allow people to build a bot for a cat and know it's going to win.

Or instead of random maybe drop the highest level in a category by one each tourney. So if you were on top of a category, the next time you will be at the bottom of a category. e.g.

Tourney1

Cat lvl51-lvl60

Tourney2

Cat lvl50-lvl59

Tourney3

Cat lvl49-lvl58

Do the same for all the categories and after maybe 5 tourneys revert back to tourney1's category split. Rinse and repeat. Remains to be seen what Ender will do though.
