This is actually enforced by the game.

Is it a bad decision? At the very least I'm going to not let you fight for the first level.

I think it's good, the last thing you want when trying to get the kudos for a weapon at lvl 4 is to get raped.

Perhaps fights should be allowed, but wins/losses not recorded up until level 5? A sort of 'testing ground'. To offset the fact that one fight can nearly take you to level 5, there would need to be decreased xp and no kudos gain.

I'm not too sure about it anymore but I don't feel like not posting what I've written.

i think attacking should be fine at lvl 2.
its sort of demoralizing, knowing getting to lvl 10 will take you like an hour:/
and you can have a dagger and a broken bottle at lvl 2.

just wondering, why did you choose for starting of with the fist and not the dagger?

I like the idea of having to purchase your first item and seeing that item slot light up, instead of it just being there. The idea being that it gives the player a sense of accomplishment or something. Maybe that's just nonsense though.

it sorta makes sense. only not at lvl 2. accomplishment or not, everyone wants to rush through them as quickly as possible..

i liked the fact that you could attack from start.

made a bot , attacked, made a sacrifice to god of luck, won, got a level, put all in con, attacked again, won, got 8 levels, put ALL in con, attacked again won, got to lvl 14.

nice and easy :D

So new players cant fight until they've hit level 5? I dont like that. Training is slow and uber boring.

Personally i dont like games where im being 'tutored' without a choice. Im an adult goddammit.

Train to lvl 5 takes too long, people not dedicated to Bots4 won't want to stick around to see what it's really all about.

It doesn't take too long.. Just put point on int and it speeds up, follow the tips they were given on the home page and it takes no time at all.

I dont know about you guys, but whenever i try out a new game, the one thing i dont do is read anything. I click next, skip, close, whatever, yea yea, just let me start playing!

Haha, yeah, I think a lot of the people that are just starting to play again are used to training and it was a lot more easy, it's more of a challenge now. I think that's good, it'll attract dedicated players :)

Haha, yeah Jans you have a point there.. The box is there though and if someone has suggested the game to you, word of mouth is going to be the most powerful way of advertising the game at the start then that new person can ask questions to who suggested him. If he just stumbled across the game on the internet then there is always the forum and the help box on the home page till level 20, but as you say reading isn't what most people want to do while playing a new game but this is a text based game....

I agree with Jans. fighting at lvl 1 ftw (ok ok, at least at lvl 2...).
Those 5 levels of worthless train will be very boring and can become a factor of some newbies quitting the game having not even started playing it.
