Handshake, but hugging is better, makes it more relaxing afterwards :) |
evie [110] |
then maybe its time for you to step your greeting up tp a Hug ! and brake the ice with a boom! |
|
If it is too men meeting for the first time I think a hug would be more awkward...just sayin |
|
Haha indeed, it depends on the situation :)= |
evie [110] |
haha point taken :P ok then when the situation is right then ^.^ |

I usually do the handshake and bring it into a one armed hug, best of both worlds. |
evie [110] |
i like it! sneaking it in gently! i like your style !! |
|
anyone who posted in the hug forum is awesome! |
|
Real men hug. |
|
I prefer a headlock and a Noogie, this is real affection, just saying... |
|
^lol, used to do this to my brother =) but yeah, i hug =) |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Oj0-splZw I was taught hugs are bad, and that this is the way to hug! |
evie [110] |
i think hugging people make them feel special :P also not just real men hug, real women hug also :D i also am open to alternative suggestions maybe i will be swayed ! i am rather found of the noogie idea ^.^ ! |

If I meet a female, a hug is definitely the appropriate move :) and males will get the firm handshake. |
evie [110] |
nice to know i qualify for a hug ! but what happens if another man puts his arms out to greet you with a hug, would you deny him? |
|
Yes. Or preemptively occupy one of his hands with a hand shake forcing him to do the shake+hug mentioned above. |
evie [110] |
nice, Very smooth ! |
|
This aint my first rodeo :P |

I'm English we don't hug. A slight nod of the head or tipping of the hat is more than intimate enough for us ^^ |
evie [110] |
I'm English ! you just sound super posh :P |
Head Moderator |
or i'm taking the piss ... you decide ;) |
|
If I wore a bowler, cowboy, or top hat I would find all the reasons to tip it personally |
evie [110] |
haha i am going to have to go with super posh. just so i stick by what i said in the first place, no other reason ^.^ |

Back to the question up there evie, if a man were to initiate a hug, then no I wouldn't deny him. Despite only being a few miles from England, here in Swansea - Wales, it's really common for random people to give you a hug upon greeting you. It's never a big deal :) Obviously you get the people who think its 'gay' or 'too much contact' but why ? .. And if it's a night out and people are tipsy, EVERYONE does the hug hahah. Handshakes are almost forbidden ;D |
|
Well we never mentioned being tipsy lol. That is an entirely different story |
Sphinx [41] |
Neither did I originally, just thought I'd add it hah :) |

haha i love it!! i live down in Dorset. when i greet someone with a hug that i haven't met before they kinda freeze and are like Wtf lol. then i can feel safe that anything i say after that wont make them feel weirder than they already do xD. Oh and being drunk i hug everyone and fall on them alot also >.< but that's just the fun of it |

high five is more than enough |

I'm currently in the land of the double-cheek-kiss-greeting. :\ |
evie [110] |
i thinks thats awesome, in my line of work i tend to meet a a lot of older men they like to kiss on the cheek, but they tend to have a runny noses or sweaty cheeks. i would always welcome a fresh face ^.^ i think its a brave greeting ! |
