If you were ever around for Bots2 you would know that there is always a drop off in players towards the end of the month.

I somewhat agree with DNM. Who wants to start a new game and lose over and over?

I have to agree somewhat. The new energy system panders to the older players who actually know how to make a bot and level accordingly with armors and weapons at the most optimal level leaving those new people who are just starting out behind the curve.

Older players having access to massive whore clans was more noob-friendly?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but older players should naturally have an advantage due to the fact that they've played and are more experienced. With age comes wisdom. In order to put everyone on the same playing field, you would have to completely change the game so that it is new to EVERY player, existing or new.

hmm, how could we do that? I know! Add in 400% more weapons and armors!

I think the point Just Botted is making is that older players will have an advantage no matter what. There is nothing we CAN do about it.

No, there is nothing we can do about older players having an advantate.. But atleast raping whores wasnt pushing players away. If you just started, got to lvl 45 and logged up, woke up in the mornign with 400 losses, would you feel like continuing? probably not. Atleast whores let us not fight "main" bots.

^ also, just look at the participation there was in Real wars compared to whore fighting when it was around. Not very popular amongst the population. The energy thing is a baptism of fire for beginners, and not a very pleasant one. its not doing much to keep NEW people around or expand the player base.

I used to be quite in favour of the cs system, but I'm not so sure where I stand now. Both systems have their pros and cons, and I don't think that changing from one system to the other would necessarily change online activity. If the hard initiation for new players is an issue, protection for the first few days might be a possibility.

I think what it comes down to is that there really isn't much to do on bots apart from click fight or train again. Sure early on you upgrade your gear/stats/achievements all the time, but once you start encountering the grind of levelling/gaining wins it gets a little tedious and I can see why people would quit. I don't really know if there's a solution to that besides adding some new features, but that would be a long time in the making probably.

This calls for a hybrid. Accomodate the nubs, and accomodate the pros.

Leave the "energy" system as is, add tiny energy gains from whores.

Also, an advanced tutorial.
