I'd like to play my songs on my tv from my laptop. So it is louder and I can watch the video on my tv.

Can I do this? If so, How?

Do you have a stereo system with your tv?

anyways, your hdmi cable doesn't work with it?

It is possible, tv's these days are basically monitors with different aspect ratio's.

I just use a male to male aux in cord with my stereo, But if you don't have one.. i dunno ^^

i use DivX player with which i can stream/send video's, music and pictures wireless to my Sony tv, its quite easy and convenient though i dont know whether it could work for you.. What is your setup? laptop/tv/stereo etc.
