Hi guys. I've started a website designing business.

No offense, but your page looks like something straight out of 1996. You definitely need to work on it.

You get what you pay for i guess. His rates are low.

i sell time blocks lol. makes it easier and plus gives me a dead line. 10 hour time blocks 15 bucks basically. just waiting for a new part that was burnt out.

I know my websites are 100% high-tech. http://newagegame.com, I put a lot of time in with making it look good. If you guys check it out it will show some of my "better" work.

I've done this for college. I need extra cash for some bills, parts for my car, etc. It's not like I'm making a new facebook or something.

I like making profiles for clans, Rapture, The Dynasty, and few others. So, I figured let's do the same for businesses and make a few dollars.

I understand if you don't like me, just keep it to yourself. I'm done lashing out and stuff. Just here to roam around.

I was serious. I'm pretty sure you could make it look better, some of your portfolio is better than your http://alanproductions.net/ thing. You should prioritize that one.

When a business looks for someone else to do their work for them, they look at that business's work. If I wanted a professional website, or even a personal one, I'd want the website offering the services to look profession. Yours looks like a 1995 MySpace Blog. You definitely need to change it to something more clean, professional looking.

Capital letter at the start of a sentence too. Even my 5yr old nephew knows you can't put 's at the end of a word that ends in s

add ' to the end of plural nouns that end in -s

That's good, but unless you're talking to yourself, others also need to know what you meant.

back on topic ...

1st) Don't use tables to set up your page, use css

2nd) Add css

Tables are okay for forms. Makes them look uniform without a shit ton of divs.

Tables are bad for layouts, which I use divs.

Also, I use CSS. I'm uploading a new version in about a hour.

a few tips...

1- Download FireBug for FireFox if you haven't already. Helps you trouble shoot html/javascript problems.

2- Do as many design tutorials as you can.

you don't need a table to make a form look uniform that's still using it for layout, but agree it's the easy (quick and dirty) way to do it

i would lose the scroll bar in your c5 div

and consider aligning the hole page (might just be on chrome)

I have firebug for chrome and firefox.

looked into your css a bit, guess the left alignment of the bottom part was on purpose. It looks odd though, unless you where thinking of putting something to the right, i would centralize it, so its aligned with the text part

And while there's absolutely nothing wrong with using those (there are many great designs out there, and pretty cheap) it does downgrade the "we're creatively creative" statement a lot. It makes it ironic, even.

Mithrandon, I know you probably don't need my services at this current time, but at least "use" the site. Get an estimate. You'll understand why the box is to the left. The estimate pops to the right.

hmm .. even with the estimate showing it's still not balanced, too much "white-space" to the right.

And this is just an advice in user friendliness, don't clean the form when the user press [estimate], keep the data and make a clean/reset button instead.

I selected 'contact forum' (sic), and the estimate gave me a price for a 'forum' instead, 9.5 hrs, $95
