White and Gold. What does that make ME? |
White and gold although the white seems blueish :P |
definitely blue |
White (Blue) and gold! It's blue I swear |
That's weird what we really should be seeing black and blue maybe were night people |
if you play bots you are looking at a black background, so when you switch your eyes to the dress, you are more likely to see the contradicting white color. If you watch a white background most of the time, the dress is likely blue (i guess) |

So, the white isn't white. I see it's blue now. However, it isn't black for sure. More like dark brown, dark green... |
It's blue and gold lol fightttttt |

What the pic above says - it's obviously blueish and goldish, and i dont get what the controversy is about.. |

It just occurred to me many people have really shitty, non calibrated displays.. I checked it on a shitty laptop, and i can see how it appears 'blue and black' there. |

The dress designer has stated the dress is Black & Blue. It was the camera's flash that resulted in it looking white/gold. |

Also I suffer from Red-Green Color Blindness, so the dress is orange & pink. |

My girlfriend asked me about this last night too and freaked out when I said black and blue because she very clearly sees white and gold. I read it depends on whether your brain sees it as (a) an overexposed photo (you'll see it as black and blue in this case) or (b) dark in shadow (you'll see it as white and gold in this case. Maybe similar to how your brain can switch the direction the spinning dancer if you stare at it long enough. Also, here's the dress on Amazon, which has some funny reviews. Pretty neat either way. |
you forgot category c) those who see it as blue and gold, which haven't been explained by anyone, but i recon it's just that we don't see it as only overexposed/underexposed |
'we' see it as the colours truly appear on the image itself; blue and gold. So i guess we look at things at face value, without bias or subjective assumptions ;) |

wonder if that explaines why my night vision is better than my parents. |
