I like no-edit better, if you say something, it stays there forever. |

I've talked about this a bit before. I think the conclusions I'd come to was (1) I agree that people should deal with the consequences of their posts, (2) sometimes being able to make a quick edit to a recent post is nice, and (3) some threads like damage threads need some sort of special handling. To address those needs, I think I'd been leaning towards allowing posts to be edited for ~3 minutes after being posted and for there to be a special setting for OP to edit their first post. I've added two new entries to the spreadsheet for these features. P.S. I deleted 18 offtopic/trolling posts from this thread. Please try to keep at least the suggestions/bugs forums on track as those are the ones I interact with the most and so it's quicker to respond if there's less noise, thanks. |

I definitely dislike the idea of being able to delete post mostly due to the fact it completely skews the entire thread when key bits of the conversation are suddenly gone. On that note though I also don't like typo's and when I'm rushing I(as well as others) tend to make some minor mistakes so I like the idea of a "time window" in which you would be allowed to edit. 3 minutes seems like plenty of time. On the "Records Threads", wouldn't it be possible, considering you do have complete access and control of the database Ender, to make this completely hands free and design a table similar to the HoF for Records. I know it would require a bit of coding but it would require a lot less of the "Honor Code" because it would come directly from the database and have seemingly zero human contact. Also it would be instantaneous as well as clean, due to those threads usually getting a multitude of responses, not only from the people posting their record but people disputing the validity of them as well as spammers. |

Thanks nos, I like that idea and made a separate thread to discuss it http://bots4.net/forum/4/3665 . On the subject of forum stuff though, are there other use cases for OP being able to edit their first post? If not it would be nice to scrap that idea and just add the 3 minute edit thing. |

The only thing I could think of would be in the Marketplace, where someone sells their bot they could edit their original post if it was a multiple sale and only sold certain bots from the list. Nothing else pops to mind. |

Cool, I scratched that (setting allowing OP to edit first post) from the spreadsheet. Didn't like it much anyway. |

I understand what you are referring to, but like Ender just said, albeit with less detail, he wants to keep each topic on topic. That's why I was steering you to the other thread he started. |
