Are there any plans for more trophy points available at higher levels other than buying stars?

I mean, it looks like leveling is dead for me after i spend them, and there are little to no ways of getting anything close to desirable amount.

I can't speak for planned game updates, though I've not heard anything.

Some of the more successful high levels build themselves a small army of energy dumpers and join clans that will trickle them a few trophies per month from clan races and tournaments. You could (slowly) work on some "Top X stat" monthly trophies that can roll in too.

Nothing planned at the moment, no. I've been a little torn about trophy points and buffs. I don't think the system is very well balanced - I'd originally meant for buffs to be a "sometimes" bonus that people get to use, but I don't think that's how they're really seen/used in practice. I don't really have more specific thoughts than that at the moment though.
