I'm all for supporting nerdy things, but those threads are mindless and count as borderline spam in my eyes. I won't do anything about it for now though because people seem to enjoy it and I don't want to attempt to draw the line on what counts as reasonable forum content.

In all fairness, if the question of counting games being annoying or spam I could bring up how I think 'guess the next poster' threads would fall into the same category.

I made the weird counting ones to express the same opinion; simply counting from 1 to w/e is pretty stupid :)

But hey, it's the miscellaneous forum. And those threads are pretty.. miscellaneous. They do serve some kind of social function though. And like Draoi said, it's not like other forum games are 'useful content'.

I'd like to point out ALL of this is a huge waste of time and effort anyway. Total playing time already amounts to 6.5 years of man-hours. Time which could have spent a lot more productive; working, studying, socializing, exercising. Even volunteering at an animal shelter is way more useful than clicking train-again.

So i don't really understand why some people get annoyed by the way others choose to waste their time. Sure it's spam (as in, loads of comments in a short period of time), but it's concentrated into dedicated threads. You don't have to actually read it.
