Well i play for about 12-16 hours out of the 24.....so it makes it so i dont have to re-log. I have like 5 bots going or so at all times so i can focus on one and then go to another window without signing in.

nicely done Zipter, I like the way you play this game, using little tricks like that is how you get ahead of the competition, and makes for great flaming opportunities that I can laugh at :D

In all fairness, I haven't seen any official rules posted anywhere on this site. Posting a set of official rules somewhere will set a clear guideline for everyone to follow.

I don't think there needs to be written rules because if there is people can point to loopholes and fuck with ender.

In all fairness, just think to yourself 'is doing this really the right thing to do' and you are set.

yeah but online players are far less likely to be attacked, and i'm not sure if it is here, but on bots2 there was a large xp/kudo gain penalty when attacking online.

I don't agree with things like that, regardless of how minor it is, and whether it is a written rule or not. On a smaller scale, it's like making a mannequin of yourself to sit at your desk in work, to fool your boss that you're actually there..

At the end of the day, it's clear what should and shouldn't be done. Things that are created that even slightly gives a player an advantage over others, should not be allowed.

Without being a patronizing little dick, consider the fact that every player has access to these things, with the exception of running scripts. Things that are within the game, are accessible. Anything used outside is classed as giving that particular player an advantage. And if it doesn't, why the fuck are you using it ?

never used one of aqua's scripts, and i dont agree with auto-refresh.

just to let everyone know i have stopped using this demonic auto-refresh:) never wanted to get any advantage though....i still do not think it should be "against the rules" but i respect the opinions of the majority of the bots4 community enough to stop.

Thinking people will do the right thing is just foolish. Even if there isn't a set of explicit rules people will try to exploit any system any way they can, it's human nature, so you don't actually lose anything by having rules.

It's pretty obvious there need to be rules set out to point out the difference between say an aquaregia script, which doesn't click anything for you it just helps analyse those clicks and make them convert better, and an auto clicker.

Oh and saying things like "it's okay for Ender to use scripts but not us?" is retarded, this is his world and he can do what he likes.

Zipter sent me a bmail saying he'd stop using the auto-refresh addon, so first thanks for being an adult about it and not trying to deny something obvious.

I'm letting this slide for now because there are indeed no posted rules on the site. I'll be taking a closer look at rule enforcement and game security and such soon.

Actually, Alan, it does, it can hamper the transfer of kudos, there is a huge penalty in kudos you take when your target is online.

That said, I would say give zipter the benefit of the doubt and believe he has stopped using the add-on. There were no official rules, so he did something, the creator spoke, told him to cut it out, and he did. End of story.

I'm not surprised at all that this topic got as many responses as it did, any topic with even a hint of automagic is bound to generate interest around here.

There will always be some people keeping tags on their fellow players, as the months become more competitive I would expect to see more of "hey look i've been checking on this guy and he looks suspicious to me, CHEATZOR, 1337 HAX!!!" and stuff like that.

Alan, don't drag Emanuel's name through the mud. He's arguably done more for this game than any other single player, not just the stuff you guys know about but plenty of behind the scenes stuff too. Everything he's done has been above board and with my knowledge, so for you in particular, someone who cheated in bots2 (below board and without the knowledge of floR until he caught you) is a little low. The mere fact that I have to point out the difference between (a) working directly with a game administrator to improve security and (b) cheating behind an administrator's back and doing nothing to improve security astounds me.
