MediaCom is terrible, I had them for about a year and the service went down for at least an hour a day, and they spy on what you do online, got like 3 infringment letters heh.

Infringement letters usually originate from a source that not your internet provider. Companies have been know to use peer-to-peer services to track their pirated software and obtain IP addresses, which they then trace back to your provider. They send them a letter, who return send you one.
