Why would anyone appreciate a dude that is forum moderator for the past 14 years in a game with 3 online average user count per day? it's clear he is inept to do anything worthwhile in his life since he keeps logging into this game and acts as a janitor for literally 3 people that don't even care? Pretty much^^ lol. Winning isn't as fun when there's little to no resistance. Its that much more satisfying when there is opposition.

Actually what Neps did was way more impressive than anything anyone has done now. The game was competitive then and Neps actually had competition. He was doing things that were unheard of, in a time when you got onlined, in a time when you couldn't leave energy bare on whores because people were actively taking it all. You all have it easy now.

But, lets not get distracted. This post is a dedication to the wonderful work of our dear friend, and favorite moderator, FISHWICK!!

I think you're missing the point that Neps himself made or you two need to talk and get your stories straight.

Paradise aka Ville: Neps was a player who played for 7 months at the start of the game when everything is easier to get to the top of, compare it to getting top energy month on the 1st day of any month compared to the last day. All I see when I read his posts which are always about himself is someone who thinks they are great when really no one ever talks/thinks about them because they were just average compared to today.

Ofcourse atleast he didn't cheat and get banned like you though.

Getting top energy back then was actually pretty tough. Neps pretty much was the first player (to my knowledge) to ever use dumpers.

Look at that profile, study it, read it over again, look at al the bots he made, his accomplishments, then compare it to what others did in that same time frame - once you've done that, come back and give applicable data.

Escapism did not win a month until Neps retired - remember that. No one beat him. Little Neps had top energy everytime it competed. Escapism beat Eternal using tactics that Neps created.

Neps paved the way for the way the game is played now.

As for myself, I have zero desire to play this game anymore. I can also assure you winning month after month with zero competition is nothing to gloat about :)

Oh so we are judging the GOAT on bots4 from a profile made nearly 10 years ago now, instead of the facts?

• Who has the bot with highest energy? - Eps
• Who has the bot with highest wins? - Eps
• Who has the highest top energy month plats? - Eps
• Who has the most f1 longevity points?- Eps
• Who has scored the most energy in a month? - Zach(3rd person lul)
• Who has the most succesful tourney bots? - Myriad
• Who has the most George Washington plats? - Rene
• Who has the bot with most plats/tp? - Myriad

I can't think of any notable achievement relevant to neps now. So there's your data I look forward to your reply.

2.) When Neps competed.. he never lost. Eps, Myraid, Rene, Yourself, have all had great months and lost - Neps never lost. Neps also was first in total energy, wins, and level, during his era (I think he had 1st and 2nd in wins)

3.) Did you even play back then? Do you have any idea what the game was like or are you only speaking from your perspective or the current meta?

4.) When you woke up today, what did you do to be more like Fishwick?

Metas change and people thrive in different environments, neps was superb at that point in time. It's a different game these days where there is far less competition for public energy whores, there's a huge supply of ratio whores, energy/win dumpers etc. It doesn't lessen anybodies achievements, it just means they were obtained with different methods. Can't say if they would still be thriving now, I think it's ignorant to assume he would have continued to dominate with certainty.

Personally I think those times were far more interesting in terms of achievements, I.A. trophies being difficult as you'd instantly be onlined, scorers would get drained of energy if their build was shit etc. Scoring now I think is much simpler and just comes down to how much energy you can squeeze out with minmax tactics, prepping better buffs, changing dumper builds for faster fights and such. Arguably scoring is more taxing now since you have to expend even more time and resources to compete for #1 since it's more about raw number output. That's my two cents on comparing the times.

Also, I'm pretty sure neps was not the first to use dumpers. Bazza used dumpers clear back into the beta, and Rivan was already buying them like the first or second month.

In regards to it feeling better when you win a competetive month, you can only beat whats infront of you and we earned these easy months by taking the power from Escapism last year with probably the 2 most competetive months in bots history(Feb/May) I think May especially was crazy at the beginning we hit 10mil as a clan in 12 days and a multiplier of 30, these months feel good to win but I would much rather score a nice 100k and take the same amount of plats as I would from scatterdumping 6m in a competetive month.

Also, I'm pretty sure neps was not the first to use dumpers.

GOAT debates are cool. I think it's either neps or Eps. People say neps is GOAT because there hsnt been anybody else that dominated every aspect the way he did. But what aspect did he dominate that Eps hasn't? Maybe he had some better trophy bots, but nowadays nobody cares about trophy botd and stats. The top players just rotate the int/str etc plats between them for years.

Problem with neps is he didnt do it for long. Somebody said nobody won till he quit, but I think it was more he quit at exactly the right time. I remember when Escapism won, there was no way even with neps Eternal would win. So yeah he did quit at the absolute perfect moment.

He also benefitted from being in Eternal. Most people arent gonna go for monthly records and stuff in a losing month. Maybe like 1/20 players dont care and would go for an individual win but lose the clan battle.

Wins and all time energy is Eps. Neps is not even a close 2nd.

Individual month its obvious pothead and rene are the best. The monthly record has been theirs for like 90% of the life of the game. I dont know who is better between them.

Leveling GOAT hard. Neps and Eps are probably equal. Xerex has been up there since the beginnng and barely ever plays. Pretty damn GOAT like. Myriad and Lyrad are also there, both seems similar, myriad probably better. I dont know how you choose, especially since Eps did have that guy who ac'd helping level his bot? Xerex gets the win methinks.

I dont think there are any other categories. The trophy stuff and building is all really subjective. I would trust gpofs judgement in that tier list he made in terms of people's building capacity.

So is neps the GOAT? I don't know. I think Eps is personally.

I don't see myself as GOAT anything. I was first, that's it. I'm flattered that some people think highly of me, but it's pretty clear (like literally numerically clear) that tons have people have clicked fight again / train again more times than I have. All I did was click a bunch of links many many years ago.

I haven't really seen what's been happening in the past few years, so I just took a quick looksee around the current HoF and past clan rankings. To be honest these numbers are mind boggling.

There is no way I would be able to dedicate myself to clicking these many links, for these many years. Lots of monsters in these HoFs.

I don't know many of these new guys but what they've accomplished is pretty amazing.

You mean you don't miss butting heads with Mal and Dougie all the time? I understand they were a pain at times, but the banter between them and Rose/Jans seems legendary now. The game had intense competition then. Remember when we couldn't keep clans of 100 full?

Fishwick is a good guy. He's done a lot for the game and the community. You have to admire someone who has also taken the time to help moderate the game while the rest of the world has evolved - this thread was not meant to be satire.

All in all it is awesome to see this thread turned into a Return of Neps thread! \o/
