Just wondering how many if any of you use dvorak key layout.. i just recently switched and i must say its very nice..only hunting and pecking atm since i have one hand in a splint.. figured it would be the best time to learn the layout.. if your interested in what dvorak is check oout this wiki that explains it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak_Simplified_Keyboard..

I have thought about it, but never got around to trying it. Seems like a hassle to switch.. The qwerty positions are pretty well engraved into my brain :)

Did you actually get a dvorak keyboard? Or did you swap keys? :) And how easy is it to get used to?

I think it'd be more efficient in the long run to learn how to type using the Dvorak setup, but if you think about it, it must take you a REALLY long time before you can start hitting the keys without thinking about it. That's probably the biggest barrier to switching.

For eg. I'm right-handed and I use the mouse left-handed to prevent myself getting carpal tunnel syndrome or something similar in my right hand. It took me ages before a mouse felt comfortable in my left hand, but now that I can use it efficiently, it's way better, as I can jot down notes while scrolling/browsing as well as preventing injury.

I'm a little hesitant to stick a screwdriver in my macbook's keyboard..

This might work though

Although simply switching keys seems possible as well

I might give it a shot :)

A bit longer than I expected, grew up with qwerty + right handed so yeah.

I can still use qwerty + righty though, just like gotta mentally remind myself lol

I'm using Dvorak right now, or actually, a swedish version called Svdvorak.

Looks like this:

I haven't switched any keys on the keyboard though.
