soo yeh, ARE YOU A POKEMON FAN? DO YOU SPEND ALL HOURS OF YOUR WEEKENDS GLUED TO YOUR TV, EAGER FOR MORE BATTLES AND ADVENTURES? Well discuss here :)
I'm a big fan of the games, especially the old school ones (Gold, Silver and Crystal are my faves, I like johto :) )
I used to love the show, but I guess that phase ended a while ago.

My favourite pokemon is probably Gengar, but my faves change from time to time :)

Currently flicking between black and soul silver. They did a great job with soul silver but black in honesty was a let down, hasnt stopped me from catching everything and getting all the badges though. Silver is massive. I don't get a lot of free time so ive finished niether.

Silver and Gold were the hayday of pokemon (IMO) The best combination of new and old... and the fact that the games themselves went on forever

Agreed. Gold and Silver probably had the best replay value thanks to that. Much better end game playing than the others. The latest one I played was Emerald, after that I've barely touched my Gameboy.

I got blue/red and both were hacked with a million master balls. Also with a glitch where i would catch lvl 130 stuff. Pretty great.
Bought Crystal. Like it the most. I've played is probably 6-7 times.
Then bought fire red/leaf green. Beat both of them.

Never played anything more than that. Just couldn't buy the games in time so that brought me from it. I still check in every now and again about whats going on.

I think unless you've actually played pokemon you do not realise how great a game it is. Having said that I think I stopped at silver/gold as the game was not evolving enough for my liking :P

But favourite probably the original red/blue & special edition yellow ^^

I used to love Pokemon when I was a kid. G/S/C were the first games I played and they were awesome, but nowadays I just can't get excited by the same catch pokemon, train pokemon theme anymore. I guess there's only so many times you can do it until it loses it's charm :( At the very least the games appear to be getting harder, as I found out when I finished Diamond not long ago :)

Oh and Suicune still pwns all :p

With RNG manipulation you can catch as many as you want :p

lol, I own an action replay, but I dont use it. I like all of my pokemon to be legit :)

Ive encountered 3 shinys in my pokemon-playing life. golbat, tentacruel and paras. none really looked that good in shiny form though, but still pretty good :)

RNG manipulation is legit, it doesn't involve any 3rd party programs. It just abuses the non-random nature of the numbers that the RNG spits out. You can also get perfect pokemon with the method, but it requires a lot of dedication.

So like Salamence?

As for 600 base stat total, is that special or something?

Haha, I don't actually know much about it for the new games, but basically it involves catching a pokemon at an exact time during the game, which will give a pokemon with exact stats. If you catch one at the right time it will be shiny/have perfect stats/nature etc. It also works for eggs. I tried it when I was trying to make a battle tower team in Emerald but it took too long and was very frustrating :p

Google RNG manipulation and pokemon and you should find some enlightening things to read ^^

pretty much :)
and basically, it means their base attack points, defense, speed, special attack, special defense and HP will add up to 600. Bulbapedia explains all those kind of things.

Gold and silver were definitely the heyday of pokemon. Mainly because you could tackle the gym leaders of 2 regions. If they combined Sinnoh and Hoenn they could have made a much better game. Black and White is definitely a good way to get back into the game. Due to the fact that until you defeat the champion. You'll only encounter new pokemon and all of the new dual types they have. :D
