I have talked to Ender about the site. Since he is focused on Bots4 / Google, he can't keep BU up to date in coding / security.

I was wondering, If I made a Bots4unauthorized, would anyone actually use it?

It would feature

• A very fast Build calculator
• Lots of helpful tips about what armors to use
• A simulator, with limitations
• A "new player" section
• A build planner, would require account login off my site I made
• Lists of weapon paths
• and other little nifty things.

Before I put the time into really making the site and then nobody use it because BU is here, I liked to be informed. I don't plan to "replace" BU, just to have an alternate site to help people with.

I'm terrible when building bots, so I would use all the resources available ...

so +1 on those that would use it.

I'd use it if I was a mod there too. Oh and you should ask ender to let you extract the stats HoF data or something, cause that'd be cool.

See, that's what I want to do. It would be farther down the road right now. Where I could "Ask" for the data somehow. Right now, I could just copy paste the screen shot and put it on there.

Also by your definition of a freak my scarabs is a freak compared to a noob with scarabs that doesn't have all the best uniques, I suggest changing it to "A bot that uses armour and/or weapons that it doesn't have the required stats to equip"

Looks good, and thanks for linking to my scripts, man that's a lot of scripts I've written :P

A few suggestions:

When searching for an item, make it match anywhere in the string. So if you search for "uby katan", it would find "ruby katana". And if you search for just "katana" it would show all weapons with "katana" in their name.

In the build calculator, make it possible to select an item by clicking its row, rather than just the name. Change the color (slightly) of the row when you hover it, and set the CSS "cursor" to "pointer".

It's also not possible to choose two weapons, but I'm guessing that's on the TODO list?

Oh, and you're missing the new weapons.

I agree there's not a lot of reason, but it might make sense that someone wants to see his max and min damage with two different weapons (at the same time).

Also, it's weird. When you go to site, the font is one size, but when you click on home, it is different.

• Big update for the build calculator

  • It now updates what items you can use, on the fly ( Very Fast! )
  • Background change
  • Fixed it so you can't have less than 5 of any stat point total

some stuff im guessing you are working on, but nevertheless, some suggestions. I only bothered about the big stuff since it is still work in progress :)

Overal:
- Please use a non sans-serif font. It would make the small font letters much easier to read with the calculator for instance.
- some font colours do not match. especially the green hurts my eyes at the formula page. perhaps you can try some other green/colours?
- use the same font size across pages.

Home:
- link to this thread, so people know which thread to use and can directly post something.

Calculator:
- highlight 'equipped' armour/weapon
- option to hide non-unique armours
- Your screen must be quite wide to also show the shields. This could be on purpose, but maybe you have a better solution?
- search function: include a 'search all' (perhaps as default?)
- make the titles of the colums stay on top, e.d. weapon, min, max str, dex etc.

New Player:
- a better name would perhaps be: player guide/bot guide/build guide i cant be bothered thinking of something else, since this page has the lowest priority in my opinion.

Item Search:
- this page has all the space i needs, but then doesnt use it. Instead, i would make a page displaying all the item into more detail. Basically as in the calculator but then bigger and with a search funtion.
-again, make a search all function and make this default.

UPDATE!

Now, my site pulls the clan ranks every hour and checks how it is doing against the last hour. It keeps all records, which will make for updates later for each clan. If you clan isn't shown, wait until the next hour.

More to come now that I know how to do this!

The Clan Ranking now "Archives" clans.
At the clan ranking, click on any clan and it will take you to their archive. If your clan was just made, it will not show up until the next hour.

Curious, I know Wins are a thing to have rankings for. Should I do that and Energy Total next? I find energy month kinda a waste since it resets every month. Unless people want it, it would still be easy to get.

It wouldn't be complete without it, in my opinion.

A top 100 energy list is probably no bigger than 10kB.

Hof levels = 100 * 24 * 365 = 876,000 rows
Hof Wins = 100 * 24 * 365 = 876,000 rows
Hof Energy = 100 * 24 * 365 = 876,000 rows
HoF Monthly = 100 * 24 * 365 = 876,000 rows
Clans = ~180 * 24 * 365 = 1,576,800 rows

That is 5,080,800 rows per year. Which are all in different tables, but created at the same time from one file. No big deal since they are all pulled at different times.

I'll add the wins and energy tonight. I am also working on the build simulator. It's working pretty well so far.

• Wins are now stored just like levels and clans.
  
• A simulator is now on the game. I'd like to thank AquaRegia for the code to run the simulator. It is in effect the same as Ender's, but it does not require a GM script or the slow loading of the php base calculator.
  Make two builds using my calculator located Here and input those url's into The Simulator!.

P.S. It takes me two hours to watch and see if the data is actually working for the archives. The first hour, it gets the initial amount and adding the user to the database. The next hour, it pulls the next info and compares it to the last. With out the second hour, the first hour will not show up. That is the reason why the "rankings" take a day or so for me to add them.

It wasn't to bad I guess.

Few problems :

• No losses to look for, so that takes out one spot on the table on my end
• Energy gain, is not replaced with energy ratio. No point in looking for it
• Ratio is the only thing that is shown on clan ranks, no wins or losses

I had to go through 10 files, taking out losses, energy gain, and wins for clans. Making sure each file pulled the right information. Example: The forth column could of been wins, now it is monthy energy. So it didn't store energy as wins, etc.

It was fun though :D

Update.

On the clan lists, I've added a new column.

"Behind First", it takes the highest clans and minuses what your clan is.
Handy I think :D

Not trying to be a dick or anything but the design makes my brain cry

If anyone cares, while adding a new cron job to my game, I noticed the cron job that runs every hour to pull all the details from bots4 is still running.

The load times are a tad ridiculous, upwards of 10-15 seconds, but if there is a need for it to be faster, I could work on it some.

It has stored records (if the bot/clan was made) since January 8th. :)

Ya...When it loops through, it compares with the record before.

So each record is pulled with a query. in the loop.

Very bad coding style :P
