What happens to stashed items when you transfer stars from your account? In bots2 they stayed there, so once you restored the stars they would be there again. Is this the case or will they disappear?

They stay there.

but can you switch stuff in and out of that spot?

If it's like Bots2, then no.

Not sure what you mean. They'll still be there, but you can only access the top stash item. So for example, this would require an item to be sold from the stash in order to have access to the second item.

You have 5 stars... you transfer those five stars off your stash will still be those same items but the only item you have access to is the top item. You can sell it off down to which item you need (They will move up in order)
