Is the fight system exactly the same as that of Bots2?
i.e no changes?

Also where is the list of weapons/armour in the game?

What is different about the mechanics as to how damage, armour, hit rate etc. works?
Anywhere I can see this? The old bots2 had documentation with all the formulae.

The equipment/formulas are all the same and most of the other mechanics are the same. Some things are slightly different such as dying at 0 HP, a single showroom refreshing after 60 seconds instead of double showrooms refreshing every 90 seconds, and attacks resetting individually, etc. The only major change to game mechanics so far has been clans. The clan size is much lower (20) and the energy concept is completely new as well.

Saiyanz, the biggest change is the con formula.

Min con >= 0.35*level (rounded up or down)

No more 140 dooms, sad stuff

Hmm, so what happens if we have too low con? Can't train/fight? Don't want to get stuck and have to waste redis points.


Also, I see weapons/armour don't take any damage at the moment. Apart from taking damage I know in the old bots2 your total defense would drop by 20 points for each point of str you were lacking for your armour. Similarly for using shields what you didn't have the dex. Can't remember exactly how weapons were affected by not having the stats. Is such a thing implemented here as well?

You dont have to worry about the going under the Con-rule, you will have a warning saying that you must put a point in Con when you get there, you get the warning before you can use any of the 4 points, if that makes sense.

About the Armor/Weapon/Shield penalty, there is no penalty at all in this beta version this far, so you can "abuse" the system to get some better gear/weapon/shields if you like.

This will probably change not to far into the future xD

I think there should be some penalty to equip armour and weapons that you don't have the stats for. The old system worked well with the 20 defense reduction per point missing.

If there is no penalty you're going to get builds which pump str and use +str armour to buy high end armours like corpsemourn etc. Then redis from str to dex slowly over time. You can actually have a build with 200str and corpsemourn etc. with proper planning. Dex bots with high end armours would be unbeatable. Wonder if anyone has tried this as yet. :)

If there is nothing implemented at the moment, it should be done soon or people wont like it when their builds are gimped after spending lots of time on them.

Same story for weapons. People can get the good weapons and then redis points from str and dex into con. Maybe reduce weapon damage by 2% for each point missing. Think it was like this before.

I remember it beeing something with hit chance reduction, missing alot if not having the proper stats for the weapon.

And armor taking alot more damage when not having the stats for them.

Anyways, i think Ender will have a system up working before this beta is over.

In bots2 you would lose 5% hitchance for every point of str/dex that you were lacking to equip your weapon, and when it hit it would get damaged every time.

Oh, I remember that now. Well, I changed my mind. Hope he doesn't rush to implement anything. Plan on tweaking my build using this. Maybe only implement when we go live. :)
