Is damage calculated as a randbetween(x,y) so that you have the same percentage of dealing your lowest possible hit as you do your highest possible hit (and everything between). Or is it weighted?

For example, let's say a weapon deals 1-3 damage. Is it equally likely that it hits a 1, 2, or 3, or is there a 50% chance it hits a 2 and a 25% chance it hits a 1 and a 25% chance it hits a 3?

It is equally distributed, try fighting infant or trainmate and you'll quickly see so.

Also, random and unrelated, but can you explain the difference of energy, and then energy in parenthesis?

depends on fight length.. short is 16/18 average 20 and long 20/22. By a loss half the amount is lost

The first number is your total energy, the parenthesis number is how much energy you are up or down.

Example #1: 0 (-600)
This means the person has no energy and has lost 600 energy given to him by the game.

Example #2: 10,000 (+8,500)
This means the person has 10,000 energy and of that 10,000 he got 8,500 from attacking other players and stealing thier energy. That leaves a 1,500 difference between the 2 numbers. The other 1,500 energy would be the energy he got from just being in a clan (every hour everyone in a clan gets 20 energy added)

The first number indicates your current energy, and the number in the parenthesis indicates how much you have lost or gained since you joined the clan.

A bot that never fights and is never fought will have zero in the parenthesis.

The total you have is what involves the clan rankings, however the plus/minus indicates how well you have done this month. If you contribute 2000 but are -5000, it means you gave 5000 to the competition. It could cause clans to want to get rid of you.

Everything that's been said in this thread is correct.
