Hi all! I've just found this site through a friend and was wondering if anyone had any tips on points distributions? I've seen my mate play so I sort of know what each thing does but I'm unsure of the best approach. I read botsunauthorized.net and grasped some basics but I want to have a bot that can fight other bots and win to get a nice ratio!!

After reading Neps advice on players asking for advice, I've decided to tailor my question a bit more specifically. I've not yet put any of my points anywhere, so as you can guess I have base 10 for all stats and have 4 points to distribute. I have also purchased 5 redis points for later on. As before, I want to make a bot that can fight high ratio bots and win. My mate has a bot that tends to fight bots that have a ratio of 1.5 or below and he avoids the higher ratio bots as they own him. Is there anybody who could advise, from my current point of level 2, how to proceed and distribute points to the best effect for fighting. Hope this helps and is a bit more specific :) |

well as far as 'paths' go, you can either go Balanced STR and Dex, or STR and CON. For the earlier levels, I suggest going for a STR build. Get scarab blades first though (balanced). |

Made2shred - cheers for your reply. With a balanced bot, is it best to have ratio 1:1:1 with STR DEX and CON and leave INT at base 10? Or should I have a different ratio? And, is it best to allocate points evenly at each level or should I put 4 on STR at one level, 4 on DEX at next, then 4 to Con and so on? |

What I like to do, (This is controversial) is get scarab blades, then if I'm leveling start with about 40 INT (if you plan on fighting keep INT to a minimum) then go 1:1ish (base it on weapons available check out http://edmazur.com/bots/build_calculator.php) and get a shield when you can get atleast 40% block chance, As for CON (now this is the controversial part) I like to keep it to a minimum, so unless you get the little message forcing you at add CON don't touch it. You won't notice it for a while though. How this works is instead of having high HP, you have a High block rate and block the hits instead of trying to take them. The best bit of advice I think you will get is to buy all redis points (in the workshop) at low levels, as they increase in price as your level rises. for low level fighting I highly recommend a STR build, despite the majority of my bots being balanced. Also, you can have more than one bot. so if you fuck up, or want to test an idea/build you can always create a new bot (or reset, but you can only reset every 30 days). If you need kudos make a 'kudos whore', a bot with a lot of INT you use to train and get kudos, then fight your 'main' bot and lose giving your 'main' bot the kudos. you can login to multiple bots by using either private browsing in one window, or using 2 browsers. it works off a cookie (if that means nothing to you, don't worry about it. it doesn't concern gameplay) |

Stat ratios are easy to follow rules of thumb, but if you don't mind using your brain a little, it's better to base your workshop stat building around equipment goals, instead of a rigid STR:DEX ratio. For example, exact 1:1 is fine for shamshirs (34:34) and heavy cutlasses (42,42), but the next logical step is dark cutlass (49 STR, 51 DEX), and then scarab blades (60 STR, 58 DEX). So instead of going 50:50 with STR:DEX, you could go 49:51 and get the weapon upgrade. Same with scarabs, no need to go 59:59 before 60:58. Think of stats as a means to an end, the end being good (preferably the best possible) equipment. The build calc lists all the available weapons and their stat reqs, it's good to scan the list and see which weapons would make a good path. Also, that way, you also know what to camp for in the showroom. It's a much better approach than just adding stats then seeing what you can get with them. |

Hi all. Cheers for you help. One final question then I'll shut my trap and use your knowledge. What Con should I consider having? |

At what level range? it depends on the build a lot. is it more beneficial to have more HP or a better weapon sooner. Also, people on IRC can be very helpful... if you can grab them online. A lot of people idle in there, but I'm usually in there. If you highlight people then you should get a response reasonably quickly, but sometimes you have to be patient. |

Aewsome to see someone new :) What he means by level range is where do you want to stop leveling and just go to fighting bots for wins, or energy if in a clan. That will definately make a difference. |
