They go at it for 100 rounds, then the battle ends. The attacker records a loss and the defender records a win. |

serious or are you being funny? |

neps is correct that there is a limit and that the defender wins, but the limit is actually 300 attempts. |

Ah, thanks Ender. I wonder where I got that 100 from. :/ |

The bots2 limit was 200 attempts, which can be 100 rounds - 100 if both bots have shields, ~67 if one has a shield, 50 if both have 2 weapons. That might have been what you were thinking of. I forget the exact reason why I went with 300 in bots4. I thought it was from when I added those new low-level 10 durability starter weapons, but I dug through the source code version history and it actually changed on October 1, 2010, two days after closed beta started, so I'm not sure what the reason was. :) |

Well it's a long ass fight when it does occur, that's for sure. |

300 attempts is 4 minutes. |

If I had to make an educated guess, I would say it's because the level 1 game in bots4 is not the same as it was in bots2 and that level 1 trains went on much longer in bots4 circa September 2010 than they did in bots2, requiring the attempt limit to be higher. |
