i've only been playing probably 3 hours and im level 40 already if i remember correctly from bots2 it took a few days too get to level 40, is level 40 in 3 hours a good pace?

By mostly training? Yes, 3 hours for level 40 is good if you only train. If you want to level faster I suggest you buy some buffs in the trophies section, especially Kodiac's Endless Intellect 2 or 3 (the 200% or 250% one, based on how many trophy points you want to spend). Another good method is to use ratio whores like people did in bots2 or simply attack bot with 1.0+ ratio your level or higher and hope you win.

You're leveling quick because the Aura of Eternity buff. Every new bot starts with it and it has 100 uses, but you cannot buy that buff again. The buffs you have are under your exp and kudo bars in the top left corner. You can buy buffs (one per day) on the trophies page.

level 53 now after bout 5 hours.

I got to lvl 48 in like 40 minutes.

One fight gave me like 9 lvls :)

I've been playing for 50 minutes on my other account and I'm up to level 51. It all depends on your stats man

the record i think is level 100 in ten minutes if im wrong someone will correct me but im sure its been stated before :)
