it says to use this: * for bulletpointing but when i tried that it didnt work?

I just tried and it works for me. Make sure to put spaces after the stars, e.g.:

* a
* b
* c

just done that on my profile and its still stars

Are they still there? I just looked at your profile source in the database to see what was going wrong and don't see any stars.

sorry took em down when i couldnt get them to work. they are back on now

They need an extra linebreak as well to work. In other words, the bullets need their own paragraph.

Without break:
* bla
* bla

With break:

• bla
• bla

im confused. if i could show you my profile maybe you could show me where im going wrong?

How's that example confusing? When you start a bullet list right after another line, they're not actually converted into bullets. So all you need to do is hit enter one extra time.

I think the problems were (1) the <br> tag on the second line and (2) including the stars in the spans.
