Draoi's Behemoth Gloves takes some damage.

Draoi's stormblade takes some damage.

Draoi blocked XTC!

Well, first off. Obviously it seems a little strange that the gear taking damage appears before the hit lands on the fight lines. Secondly, blocking and still taking durability. Not sure if intentional or just how things turned out.

XTC annihilated Draoi with a devastating force with its shock axe. (86 damage)

Also, not sure if intentional but when I missed(or when I took a hit from xtc's shock axe) my weapon took durability damage.

It is also worth noting that I currently do not have the stats available for it but that should only increase the probability of durability being taken.

Draoi threw XTC off its feet with an ever-expanding shockwave from its stormblade. (620 damage) XTC is in reasonable shape.

XTC erased Draoi from history with its shock axe. (145 damage) damage report: 810/1040 78 % left

Draoi missed XTC.

Draoi's Boots of Mystery takes some damage.

Draoi blocked XTC!

Draoi missed XTC.

Draoi's stormblade takes some damage.

XTC erased Draoi from history with its shock axe. (114 damage) damage report: 696/1040 67 % left

Draoi FLORIFIED XTC with its stormblade. (701 damage) XTC is not looking too good.

XTC erased Draoi from history with its shock axe. (104 damage) damage report: 592/1040 57 % left

Draoi FLORIFIED XTC with its stormblade. (704 damage) XTC is barely alive.

Draoi's Hellguard takes some damage.

XTC erased Draoi from history with its shock axe. (143 damage) damage report: 449/1040 43 % left

Draoi degraded XTC to a Furby prototype with its stormblade. (462 damage) XTC is going to get melted into something useful.

Both examples with a whole fight. (I thought my previous posts were a little hard to see :< )

The way it currently works, there's a check for damage to your equipment after every of your attempt (and vice versa for your opponent). This rolls the dice for each of your items, regardless of whether it's an offensive or defensive item and regardless of whether the attempt was a hit, miss, or block.

Maybe this doesn't make too much sense if you try to logic it out, but doing it this way made the implementation dead simple. I can make it more realistic if there's enough demand for it, but I plan to move onto other things for now.

gotcha. Wasn't sure if it was intentional or not but your way does make it really simple. I would voice in favor of making it more realistic but others might not feel the same

Does this mean that dex bots generally have a lower repair bill?

I would guess they would have a higher repair cost because the fights are longer and they take durability chance loss from all their pieces of gear when they block.

Yeah, I would assume that would make it higher cost for dex bots because of more attempts.

Then again, the cost to repair is a function of item price, and dex items tend to cost less.

Maybe higher cost was too ambiguous, how about quicker decay rate for gear per fight?

You should only take damage to one item per attempt.

We want difference in builds right? - Take more damage for longer fights? -> Dex bots suck more - FREAKED builds? -> Pointless and a half to make now - Ed said he didn't want to put in armor damage?

No, Emanuel is right. Their gear is damaged after their attempts which is once in a round of attempts, as opposed to every time they block/get hit which is twice if they have a shield.

But I think it's silly that your gear takes damage when you miss, this makes your gear MUCH less durable.

What if there was damage so we would still have to repair but no such thing as durability? Condition can still exist as normal so bots will get weaker during fights.

That way the piece of gear dont have to leave it`s spot, all thats needed is a "kudo whore". I dont like this.

I like that bots actually have to manually replace a piece of gear sooner or later.

Depends if you are a Trainbot or fightbot, anyway.. a bot should pretty much replace the item before durability reaches 0 :)

My blood eater now only has 179.4 defense, with a condition of 26%

Compared to 690 defense at 100% condition :)

The blood eater now has 0 condition, and 0 defense, it still give me the stats +5 dex and +12 int.

My rep bill got cheaper at the expense of defense ehm lol. :)

Yep, armor defense scales down with condition. For weapons it's damage and for shields it's block percent.

Is there a change to the formula? Things are much better now though. I'm hardly taking any damage. I went 5 fights without any damage so no way the chance to get damaged is 25%. Like it like this though :)

No change to the formula, only how often checks are made.

Btw, I don't know what your build is, but you'd have to be 60 points under a stat req to hit the 25% damage chance cap.

Well, I'm missing 57 points for my body armour and helmet and 53+27=80 points for my weapons.

Weapon damage seems to be implemented fine. Something funny with the armours though. I've just done about 30 fights and my body armour got damaged only once. No other armour took damage too.

Think I found out whats wrong. My armour only takes damage if my opponents weapon takes damage first...which is very rare. So think one of the if/or statements in the code is off.

What's your str (after bonuses) and what does the body armor require? The chance for damage could be as low as 2.5% if the difference is large enough. This combined with short fights perhaps makes that sound reasonable.

This is only the 4th time I've taken armour damage in over 50 fights. Each time it was only after the opponents weapon got damaged.

lecoq erased Master Bot from history with its debilitator. (102 damage) damage report: 1044/1250 84 % left

lecoq's debilitator takes some damage.

Master Bot's Corpsemourn takes some damage.

Master Bot's Heraldic Head takes some damage.

Whoops, something funky was going on in the PHP code causing the damage to be reported incorrectly. You were still receiving damage to the items, it just wasn't appearing in the battle log.

This is fixed now, thanks.
